DESCRIPTION

The AC1200 AP/Router is Mainly used for providing free WiFi service in big area such as factory , community , street or etc. The AP/Router can take an existing 2.4GHz or 5GHz wireless signal, repeat and extend it to a longer range where it is too far away for the router or access point to reach. The AP/Router simultaneously supports 2.4G and 5G wireless network connection, and it can supports 2.4G and 5G transmission speeds of up to 1167Mbps. It has 4 x external Antennas providing even better wireless performance, transmission rates, stability technology automatically avoids channel conflicts using its channel selection feature.

Installation

A1. Fasten the main body holder

A2. Plug in the Device
A3. Connect one end of an Ethernet cable to “ POE” port of POE converter.
A4. Connect one end of an Ethernet cable to “LAN DATA IN” port of POE converter, and connect the other end to a “LAN” port of your Router.
A5. Plug in the power connector to the “DC24V” port of POE converter, then plug the power adapter into a electrical outlet.
A6. Push the “ON/OFF” button on the POE converter to power on.

A7. Connect to the Device

For Windows User

1. Unplug the Ethernet cable from your computer (if any).
2. Click the Wireless Network Connection icon on your taskbar.
3. Click the refresh icon and connect to the Device’s network: WAVLINK-N or WAVLINK-AC.

For Mac OS X User

1. Unplug the Ethernet cable from your computer (if any).
2. Click the Wi-Fi icon in the top right comer of the screen, and connect to the Device’s network: WAVLINK-N or WAVLINK-AC.

Configuration

A8. Launch a web browser and type http://wifi.wavlink.com in the address field. Enter admin (all lowercase) to login.

Change Login Password

1. Launch a web browser and type http://wifi.wavlink.com in the address field. Enter admin (all lowercase) to login.

2. Click “Setup-> Login Password”.
3. Enter the old password, then enter the new password and click “Apply”.

B5. Select your router’s Wi-Fi SSID(s) and enter the password(s). Either keep the same SSID(s) as your host Wi-Fi or create new name(s) for the extended network(s).

B6. Verify your wireless settings and click “Connect”. The Wi-Fi Signal LEDs should turn on and stay solid, indicating successful connections.

B7. Relocate

1. Plug the Device into an electrical outlet between your router (Host Wi-Fi) and the Wi-Fi dead zone. The location you choose must be within the range of your existing host Wi-Fi.
2. Wait until the Wi-Fi Signal LEDs is ON. If the signal is weak, relocate the Device closer to your router for better Wi-Fi signal.

Change Login Password

NOTE: The default login password of the Device is “admin”, We strongly recommend you change the default login password.

1. Launch a web browser and type http://wifi.wavlink.com in the address field. Enter admin (all lowercase) to login.
   If the login window does not pop up, please refer to the FAQ>Q1.
2. Click “Setup-> Login Password”.
3. Enter the old password, then enter the new password and click “Apply”.

Firmware Upgrade

Firmware upgrade can fix bugs of the Device. However, We DO NOT recommend you upgrade the firmware of the Device if it works normally.

1. Download the latest firmware file for the Device from our Website www.wavlink.com.
2. Click “Setup->Upgrade Firmware”.
   
3. Click “Browse” to locate the download new firmware file.
4. Click “Apply” button, and wait a few minutes to the firmware upgrade to be complete.

Warranty voids if you interrupted the upgrade procedure.

NOTE: Never interrupt the upgrade procedure by closing the web browser or physically disconnect your computer from the Device. If the procedure is interrupt, the firmware upgrade will fail, and you may have to return the Device to the dealer to ask for help.

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

Q1. Why doesn’t the login page appear after entering http://wifi.wavlink.com ?

• If your computer is wirelessly connected, please verify that you have connected to the device’s SSID. If your computer is connected via an Ethernet cable, please verify that the connection is stable.
• Make sure your computer is set to obtain an IP address automatically.
• Use the IP address to log in to the page. The default IP is 192.168.10.1. If the Device is connected to the host Wi-Fi, please go to the router’s DHCP client list to obtain the Device’s current IP address.
• Please reset the device and try again. If the problem still exists

Q2. How do I restore the device to its factory default settings?

• While the Device is powered on, press and hold the Reset button until all the LEDs turn on momentarily.

Q3. What should I do if the LED does not change to solid after completing ?

• You may have entered the incorrect Wi-Fi password of your host Wi-Fi during the configuration, please log into the Device’s web-based interface to check the password and try again.
• Reset the device and go through the configuration again.

Q4. I have enabled a wireless MAC filter, wireless access control, or access control list (ACL) on my Router. What should I do before configuring and using the Device ?

• If you have enabled those functions of your Router, you may need to disable them first. And then follow Method ONE or Method TWO to complete the configuration.

OPTION I

1. Plug the extender in a power outlet.
2. Connection.
   2.1 Via Wireless
   Turn on your Wi-Fi and search SSID of this product on your wireless devices (smart phone, tablet computer, laptop, etc.) then connect to it.

2.2 Via Cable

Connect Ethernet cable to your PC/laptop and device LAN port, then you can start configuring the device.

3. Launch a browser from your laptop/PC or smart phone and enter wifi.wavlink.com or 192.168.10.1 in the address field. The default password is admin.

4. Select a language and set a new login password following the rules accordingly.

5. Mode selection

5.1 Select “Repeater mode”, then you can select an upstream router either manually or automatically.

5.2 Select “AP mode”, you can either keep the old SSID or create new ones; then set up a password according to the rules.

OPTION II

1. Press and hold the WPS or Pair button of your router (the duration varies due to different routers, please refer to your router manufacturer or ISP if you have trouble figuring out the pairing process).

2. Press and hold the WPS button of the device for 6 seconds till the status LED turns solid blue, signifying that the pairing process is completed.

Wi-Fi Password Management

For your network security, we suggest that you create a new Wi-Fi password if you use the extender mode. As for the setup of password, please refer to “Notes”.

Firmware Upgrade

If you need to update firmware, please proceed as the following steps:

1. Download the latest firmware file on Wavlink website
2. Extract the firmware from the downloaded file.
3. Log in to wifi.wavlink.com or 192.168.10.1, then choose “Setup” and select “Upgrade Firmware”.                                                                      
4. Click on Browse/Choose File to locate the firmware file.
5. Click on Apply, and wait for the firmware upgrade process to complete.

Why doesn’t the login page appear after entering http://wifi.wavlink.com?

Make sure your PC is set to obtain IP address automatically. Make sure your PC is connected to the extender properly. Reboot your device and try again.

How do I restore the device to factory default setting?

How do I choose the three modes?

Please choose the mode that suits you, AP mode turns your wired network into wireless connection; extender mode enhances your network; router mode works as your main router.

How to set up the extender?

Please follow the steps below: 1. Connect the extender to a power outlet and launch a browser from your laptop/PC or smart phone and enter 192.168.10.1 in the address field. The default password is admin. 2. Select a language and set a new login password following the rules accordingly. 3. Mode selection 3.1 Select “Repeater mode”, then you can select an upstream router either manually or automatically. 3.2 Select “AP mode”, you can easily turn your extender into an AP for wireless connections and enjoy high-speed wireless network coverage in your home or office; it’s also possible to connect wired devices to this AP with Ethernet cables, such as desktop computers, printers, game consoles and more; no need to worry about running out of Ethernet ports on your router anymore! 4.
