READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THIS VACUUM

  1. Inspect power cord and plug for any damage before use. DO NOT use vacuum cleaner with a damaged cord or plug. Turn off all controls before plugging in or unplugging the vacuum cleaner. If this occurs, immediately shut off power to the vacuum and remove the cord.
  2. This appliance has a polarized plug, if the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug (one blade is wider than the other). If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. DO NOT force into outlet or try to modify to fit.

  • To minimize the risk of power cord damage, DO NOT run the vacuum over the power cord. If this occurs, immediately shut off power to the vacuum and remove the cord from the brushroll or nozzle.
  • Inspect power cord and plug for any damage before use. DO NOT use vacuum cleaner with a damaged cord or plug. Turn off all controls before plugging in or unplugging the vacuum cleaner. Store your vacuum cleaner with the power cord secured around the two cord hooks.

  • Dust cup may be full; empty dust cup.
  • Clear any blockages in the hose, hose connections, nozzle, wand, pod, or accessories. See Checking for Blockages section for more information.

  • Suction is powerful. Take care when vacuuming area rugs or rugs with delicately sewn edges.
  • To minimize suction, set the suction control slider to MIN. See the Suction Control section for more information.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Power cord caught in brush-roll or floor nozzle.

  • To minimize the risk of power cord damage, DO NOT run the vacuum over the power cord. If this occurs, immediately shut off the power to the vacuum and remove the cord  from the brushroll or nozzle.
  • Inspect power cord and plug for any damage before use. DO NOT use a vacuum cleaner with a damaged cord or plug. Turn off all controls before plugging in or unplugging the vacuum cleaner. Store your vacuum cleaner with the power cord secured around the two cord hooks.

The vacuum is not picking up debris. No suction.
(Refer to Maintenance section for more information.)

  • Check filters to see if they need cleaning. Follow instructions for rinsing and drying the filters before re-inserting in the vacuum.
  • Dust cup may be full; empty dust cup.
  •  Check hose, hose connections, nozzle, and accessories for blockages; clear blockages if required.
  •  Remove any string, carpet fibers, or hair that may be wrapped around the brush-rolls.

Vacuum lifts area rug.

  •  Turn off the unit to disengage the brush-rolls. Move the switch to Hard Floor setting to turn on the slower brush-roll speed, which is optimal for bare floors and area rugs.
  • Suction is powerful. Take care when vacuuming area rugs or rugs with delicately sewn edges.

Brush-roll/soft roller does not spin.

  •  If a brush-roll Indicator light on the floor nozzle turns red, the brush-roll and/or soft roller have stopped spinning. Immediately turn off and unplug the vacuum. Disconnect the nozzle and remove the blockage, then reconnect and turn the vacuum back on.
  •  Once the blockage is removed, with the power on, step on the floor nozzle and tilt the handle back. The brush-rolls should then spin and cleaning can resume.

Vacuum turns off on its own or brush-roll Indicator Light flashes red.

  •  This vacuum is equipped with a motor-protective thermostat. If your vacuum overheats, the thermostat will automatically turn the suction motor off. Perform the following steps to restart the thermostat:
    1. Turn the vacuum off and unplug it.
    2. Empty dust cup and clean filters (see cleaning filters section).
    3. Check for blockages in hose, accessories, and inlet openings.
    4. Allow the unit to cool for a minimum of 60 minutes.
    5. Plugin a vacuum and turn it on.
  • If the hose is not fully connected to the pod, it can cause a poor electrical connection and the hose can come loose, turning the vacuum off.
    1. Turn the vacuum off and unplug it.
    2. Empty dust cup and clean filters.
    3. Check for blockages in hose, accessories, and inlet openings.
    4. Remove the cord from cord hook so the hose latch can be seen and engaged.
    5. Ensure you hear an audible click at all connection points:
    a. Where hose meets back of pod (may require additional force; push and pull on the hose
to ensure the latch is fully engaged)
    b. Where wand plugs into floor nozzle
    c. Where handle plugs into the wand
    6. Plugin a vacuum and turn it on.

BATTERY REMOVAL AND DISPOSAL
This product uses a lithium-ion rechargeable and recyclable battery. When the battery no longer holds a charge, it should be removed from the vacuum and recycled. DO NOT incinerate or compost the battery.

When your lithium-ion battery needs to be replaced, dispose of it or recycle it in accordance with local ordinances or regulations. In some areas, it is illegal to place spent lithium-ion batteries in the trash or in a municipal solid waste stream. Return spent battery to an authorized recycling center or to retailer for recycling. Contact your local recycling center for information on where to drop off the spent battery.

The RBRC™ (Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation) seal on the lithium-ion battery indicates that the costs to recycle the battery at the end of its useful life have already been paid by SharkNinja. In some areas, it is illegal to place spent lithium-ion batteries in the trash or municipal solid waste stream and the RBRC program provides an environmentally conscious alternative.

RBRC, in cooperation with SharkNinja and other battery users, has established programs in the United States and Canada to facilitate the collection of spent lithium-ion batteries. Help protect our environment and conserve natural resources by returning the spent lithium-ion battery to an authorized SharkNinja service center or to your local retailer for recycling. You may also contact your local recycling center for information on where to drop off the spent battery, or call 1-800-798-7398.

TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE

WARNING: To reduce the risk of shock and unintended operation, turn power off and unplug unit before servicing.

Vacuum is not picking up debris. No suction or light suction.

  • Remove any string, carpet fibres, or hair that may be wrapped around the brush-rolls.

Vacuum lifts area rugs.

  • Turn off unit to disengage the brush-rolls. Move switch to Hard Floor setting to turn on the slow brush-rolls, which is optimal for bare floors and area rugs.
  • Suction is powerful. Take care when vacuuming area rugs or rugs with delicately sewn edges.
  • To minimise suction, refer to Suction Control section for more information on how to use.

Brush-roll/soft roller does not spin..

  • If brush-roll Indicator Light on the floor nozzle turns red, the brush-roll and/or soft roller have stopped spinning. Immediately turn off and unplug vacuum. Disconnect the nozzle and remove blockage, then reconnect and turn vacuum back on.
  • If brush-roll Indicator light repeatedly turns red while vacuuming carpet, try moving Suction Control slide to MIN.
  • With the power on, recline the handle, which will automatically turn on the brush-rolls.

Vacuum turns off on its own or brush-roll Indicator Light flashes red.

  • This vacuum is equipped with a motor-protective thermostat. If your vacuum overheats, the thermostat will automatically turn the suction motor off. Perform the following steps to restart the thermostat:
  1. Turn vacuum off and unplug it.
  2. Empty dust cup and clean filters (see Maintenance section).
  3. Check for blockages in hose, accessories, and inlet openings.
  4. Allow unit to cool for a minimum of 45 minutes.
  5. Plug in vacuum and turn it on.
  • If hose is not fully connected to the pod, it can cause a poor electrical connection and the hose can come loose, turning the vacuum off.
  1. Turn vacuum off and unplug it.
  2. Empty dust cup and clean filters.
  3. Check for blockages in hose, accessories, and inlet openings.
  4. Remove cord from cord hook so hose latch can be seen and engaged.
  5. Ensure you hear an audible click at all connection points:
    a. Where hose meets back of pod (may require additional force; pull on hose to ensure latch is fully engaged)
    b. Where wand plugs into floor nozzle
    c. Where handle plugs into wand
  6. Plug in vacuum and turn it on.

Note: If vacuum still does not start, visit sharkclean.co.uk/customer-care or contact customer service on: 0800 862 0453.

MAINTAINING YOUR VACUUM

TROUBLESHOOTING

VACMOP™ is not picking up debris. No suction or light suction.

  • The dirt chamber filter on the disposable pad may be saturated. Try using a new pad.
Note: DO NOT vacuum up liquid or wet debris—this will cause reduced suction or no suction.
Remove liquids and wet messes ONLY by mopping.
  • VACMOP Disposable Pad may not be securely attached. Reattach the pad.
  • VACMOP Disposable Pad may be full of debris and need to be replaced.
  • Battery charge may be low. Recharge the battery completely.

The unit turns off on its own. Sprayer is not spraying.

  • Make sure there is enough cleaning solution in the reservoir. Battery charge may be low. Recharge the battery completely.

Streaks appear on floor after wet mopping.

  • Shark® VACMOP Cleaner has been specially formulated to provide a residue-free, streak-free finish when used with the Shark VACMOP. Using other cleaning solutions may result in streaking and residue. If you find residue or streaking on your floors while using our cleaner, it may be due to one of the following:
  • Your floor might not be fully dry yet. If you see streaks or suds while cleaning, just wait 5-10 minutes, and you should see them evaporate, leaving an even finish on your floors.
  • Your floors might have built-up grime and dirt. The first few times you use your VACMOP, it will remove stuck-on dirt and debris that have built up over time. After a few cleaning sessions, the streaking and residue will subside.
  • You may be using too much solution. If you continue to see streaking, reduce the amount of cleaning solution you use. Too much solution can cause stickiness and residue if not properly cleaned off of your floor.
  • The disposable pad might need to be replaced. If you are cleaning multiple times with the same pad, you may be reintroducing dirt onto the floors. Replace your pad, and consider starting each mopping session with a fresh pad to alleviate the issue.

The unit makes scraping sounds when mopping.

  • Debris may be stuck on the face of the pad. Detach the pad and remove any embedded debris.
  • The pad face may be rubbing against a rough or grainy surface. This will not damage your floors.
  • If your floor is uneven, the dirt chamber on the pad could be brushing against a raised section of the floor. This will not damage your floors.
  • Scrubbing forcefully can bring the dirt chamber in contact with the floor. This will not damage your floors.
  • Moving the handle when spraying could cause the front of the VACMOP base to drag. This will not damage your floors.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

When should I replace my VACMOP Disposable Pad?

  • Replace the disposable pad when it becomes fully saturated, its dirt chamber is full, it is noticeably dirty, or if the VACMOP is showing signs of reduced suction power.

Where can I use my VACMOP?

  • VACMOP can safely be used on all sealed hard floors—stone, hardwood, vinyl, laminate, tile, marble, and linoleum.

Can I vacuum and mop with the same disposable pad?

  • VACMOP Disposable Pads can be used for both mopping and vacuuming. The dirt chamber collects and locks away dirt and debris when you vacuum, while the pad’s fibers absorb messes as you mop. Dust and debris collected on the pad when vacuuming will be absorbed when mopping.

BATTERY REMOVAL AND DISPOSAL

This product uses a lithium-ion rechargeable and recyclable battery. When the battery no longer holds a charge, it should be removed from the VACMOP and recycled.

FAQS

How long does the shark Vacmop battery last?

If it’s used for one-off everyday messes or for more mopping than vacuuming, it will last longer on one charge. If you’re continuously vacuuming, a full charge will last up to 13 minutes.

Does this product come with a warranty?

Yes, Shark vacuum cleaners come with a 1 year limited warranty.

How long does it take to charge the vacuum?

It takes about 8 hours to charge the vacuum.

What is the difference between the VC200, UM200 and VM200?

The only difference between these 3 vacuums is the color. They all have the same features and functionality.

What is the difference between the Shark Cordless Hard Floor System and other cordless vacuums?

The Shark Cordless Hard Floor System is one of the few cordless vacuums that has a motorized brush roll. This allows you to clean hard floors without having to worry about getting tangled up in wires.

Does this product have any accessories?

Yes, this product comes with a charging station, charging base and a crevice tool.

Why is my Vacmop not spraying?

The disposable pad might need to be replaced. If you are cleaning multiple times with the same pad, you may be reintroducing dirt onto the floors. Replace your pad, and consider starting each mopping session with a fresh pad to alleviate the issue. A: If it’s a full charge , you can use it.

Why is my shark Vacmop not working?

When your Shark Vacmop doesn’t charge, the problem could be a dirty outlet, old batteries, or a clogged vacuum — all easily solvable. First, try cleaning the charging station and plugging it into another outlet. If that doesn’t work, put in new batteries; they may just be worn out.

How many years does a Shark vacuum last?

Shark is a well-known brand for vacuum cleaners, particularly upright ones. They’re more affordable than some other big brands. We’d say that you can enjoy a good Shark vacuum for around five to seven years.

Can you use any solution in shark Vacmop?

While you can use any floor cleaning solution for spray mops, I used the Shark Multipurpose Cleaning Solution on sealed hardwood and ceramic tile and found it left no residue or cloudiness. Charging the VacMop was simple thanks to the magnetic charger connection.

Can you use Swiffer pads on shark Vacmop?

Arguably, the Shark Vacmop’s most compelling feature is its ability to sweep and then mop with minimal effort. With your traditional Swiffer Sweeper, you need to dispose of the dry pad and then replace it with a wet one to make the transition.

Why did my Shark vacuum stop working?

Your Shark vacuum won’t turn on because of clogged filters. Normally, dirt and hair can clog your filters, which causes your vacuum to lose suction. However, if you don’t unclog your filter and clean it regularly, it could cause your Shark vacuum not turning on or stop working completely.

Can a Shark vacuum be repaired?

If you think it’s time to get your Shark vacuum serviced, bring it your local vac shop. Most local vacuum repair stores will provide a free quote to repair or a diagnostic fee to start repair. Bagless vacuums have filters. One foam, pre filter, before the motor and one filter after the motor.

Can shark Vacmop be used on carpet?

We would like to inform you that the Vacmop is not designed to vacuum carpets. With the VACMOP you don’t have canister to empty as the dirt is collected in a chamber on the pad. The Vacmop should not be used without a pad as it could cause the unit to have issues.

What vacuum lasts the longest?

If you want a long lasting unit, you should go for Miele and Hoover. Their vacuums last from ten to twenty years. You can expect them to last fifteen years on average if you choose the right model.
