Troubleshooting

When the mouse is paired to my laptop via Bluetooth, the connection intermittently cuts in and out. How do I fix this?

Try updating your Intel drivers by visiting: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/intel-driver-support-assistant.html

My Razer Naga Pro Side Button Modules do not work on my Razer Naga Trinity and Vice Versa.

Razer Naga Pro Side Button Modules are not backward compatible with Razer Naga Trinity and Vice Versa. Hence, it is not expected to work.

My Razer Naga Pro is taking a long time to add or switch profile in Synapse while on Bluetooth connection.

Bluetooth transmission is expectedly slower than Wired or Dongle connection. We recommend to use either the wired connection or wireless connection using the 2.4GHz dongle for quicker profile adding or switching in Synapse.

The Hypershift function bound to the number pad on the side button module continues to execute even after releasing the Hypershift modifier key but the number pad key is still pressed.

The number pad side module behaves the same way as the keyboard keys. Hence, it is expected to continue to execute until both Hypershift modifier key and number pad button are released.

Software & Downloads

Do I need to install additional software or drivers to use the Razer Naga Pro Click?

You may use the standard mouse functions by simply connecting the Razer™ Naga Pro to your computer using the USB cable, USB dongle or Bluetooth connection. However, you will need to install  Synapse 3  in order to enable advanced features such as macro recording, profile settings, Chroma customizations and more.

  • Creative Sound Blaster ZX – Side Surround channels (gray jack) not supported. Features 5.1 channel surround sound.

You may refer to this video for further details on configuring up your Razer Tiamat 7.1.

Do the Razer Tiamat headsets have a microphone?

Yes, both the Razer Tiamat 2.2 and Razer Tiamat 7.1 headsets have a fully retractable, unidirectional boom microphone attached to the left earcup.

How many drivers are in the Razer Tiamat headsets?

The Razer Tiamat 7.1 is a true surround sound headset because it uses 5 drivers in each ear cup. This means it contains a total of 10 drivers to represent the 7 full-range audio channels and 1 low-frequency bass channel.

How can I reduce the background noise received by the microphone?

The Razer Tiamat 7.1 microphone is designed for maximum audio clarity. If you wish to reduce background noise received by the microphone, you may activate the noise suppression option found under Windows Audio Settings. Ensure that Mic Boost in Microphone Properties is adjusted to an acceptable level.

What are the feature differences between the Razer Tiamat 7.1 and the Razer Tiamat 2.2?

The Razer Tiamat 2.2 features dual speakers in each ear cup with enhanced bass response. The Razer Tiamat 2.2 does not need specialized sound card drivers to function.

Meanwhile, the Razer Tiamat 7.1 features 10 discrete drivers to deliver true 7.1 surround sound experience. A Sound Card installed on your computer is needed to experience the true full surround sound functionality of the Tiamat 7.1.

What is the difference between 5.1 and 7.1 surround sound?

5.1 surround sound consists of a center, left, right, side left surround, side right surround and the subwoofer channel.

7.1 surround sound consists of center, left, right, side left surround, side right surround, surround back left, surround back right, and the subwoofer channel.

Is the Razer Tiamat headset analog or digital?

Razer Tiamat 7.1 is an analog headset that can connect to sound sources via a standard 3.5mm plug. To get the best surround sound experience with your Razer Tiamat 7.1, be sure to have a 7.1 capable soundcard installed in your system. The Razer Tiamat 7.1 has five 3.5 mm plugs for the following channels: Front (green), Center/Subwoofer (Orange), Side Surround (Grey), Rear Surround (Black), and Microphone (pink).

What does true 7.1 surround sound mean?

True surround sound is achieved when a sound system or headphone has an individual discrete or physical driver for each audio channel to give you a surround soundstage that’s produced literally around your head. This differs from virtual surround sound which only has two drivers max and uses sound processing technology like Dolby to reproduce a sensation of surround sound.

What kind of ear cushions do the Razer Tiamat headsets use?

The Razer Tiamat headsets are designed with circumaural leatherette ear cushions for maximum comfort. It also has a memory foam that conforms perfectly to your ears for a snug fit.

Where do I download the software drivers for my new Razer Tiamat?

The Razer Tiamat headset is an analog headset and does not require software drivers of any kind. The USB plug on the Razer Tiamat 7.1 version is solely used to power the control assembly.

Why is the pinpoint positional surround sound important for gaming?

Audio is a crucial factor for getting total immersion and enjoyment in the games you play. It is also necessary for giving you a competitive advantage as you’ll know how to react when you hear exactly where flashpoints enemies are.

Troubleshooting

I can hear a slight buzzing or hissing sound through my Razer Tiamat 7.1 when not playing any audio. How can I solve this?

The buzzing sound you are hearing is caused by the USB connection within computer systems that have a grounding issue and not due to the Razer Tiamat 7.1 headset. Some USB ports will cause this, so we recommend switching the USB cable to a different USB port on your computer. If all your USB ports show the same buzzing sound, you may need to purchase an AC to USB converter (sold separately). On laptops, the buzzing sound may be slightly louder because of the way the USB ports are connected internally.

Note: If you turn up the volume of the Razer Tiamat 7.1 to higher levels and have no audio playing you may still hear some hissing. Unless it is abnormally loud and still audible when audio is played through the headset, this would be considered normal and you will notice this sound when using any high-quality analog headset that can reproduce these higher frequencies.

How do I clean my Razer Tiamat 7.1 headset?

We cannot say with certainty what type of dirt and debris may be on your product, or how certain cleaning products may react with it, but we have had good luck cleaning Razer products using commonly available monitor cleaning wipes.

  • To clean the body of your Razer headset, gently wipe it with a monitor wipe.
  • Do not scrub the surface of your Razer headset.

When cleaning the earpads, make sure that the earcup and speaker do not get wet, as this can cause damage to your

Does the Razer BlackWidow Chroma have anti-ghosting capability? How about N-key rollover?

Yes, the Razer BlackWidow Chroma features a gaming optimized key matrix that allows the recognition of up to six simultaneous key presses. N-key rollover (NKRO) only works with a direct connection to a native PS/2 port on the computer which provides for other limitations that USB overcomes. The Razer BlackWidow Chroma’s gaming optimized key matrix serves a similar purpose while using an ordinary USB port.

What type of switch does the Razer BlackWidow Chroma use?

The Razer Blackwidow Chroma uses Razer Green Mechanical switches for gaming.

Troubleshooting

When I try to perform “on-the-fly recording” on my Razer BlackWidow Chroma keyboard, the LED lights up three times and then goes off. I am unable to perform “on-the-fly recording”. How can I fix this?

The Razer BlackWidow Chroma keyboard does not have any options to disable the delays in the on-the-fly macro recording. To ignore delays between recorded events please open the BlackWidow Chroma configurator and record the Macro there. In the configurator, you will see a box that can be checked to ignore delays.

My Razer Blackwidow Chroma will not work properly when used with a KVM switch. How can I fix this?

We recommend plugging your Razer Blackwidow Chroma directly into your system. KVM switches are known to cause interruptions in communications between devices and computers. If your Razer product works when plugged directly into the computer, then it is operating correctly and the issue is most likely due to the KVM switch.

Chroma SDK supported game does not display lighting effects on my Chroma devices.

To display the Chroma SDK effects on your Chroma devices, ensure that you have the latest MS Windows hotfix “Update for Universal C Runtime in Windows” installed.

How do I clean my Razer Blackwidow Chroma keyboard?

The overall finish can be cleaned with wipes generally used for cleaning your computer monitor or sunglasses. Ensure that the surface is free of large dust particles or debris before wiping the surface with any product. Wiping debris into the surface can lead to minor scratches on the surface of the unit.

If you wish to clean under the keycaps, Razer suggests holding the unit upside down and/or using compressed air from a can. We do not recommend removing the keycaps from your mechanical switches.

We suggest unplugging the device from your computer before cleaning.

Note: Under no circumstances should you ever submerge the keyboard in any type of liquid. Submerging the keyboard in any liquid will void the warranty on your keyboard.

My Razer Blackwidow Chroma does not work at startup after a cold start, what should I do?

Ensure that USB ports are not in hibernation mode.

  1. Go to your Windows “Device Manager” and click the + sign next to Universal Serial Bus Controllers. Click on any “Root Hub” and select “Properties.”
  2. Click the Power Management tab and ensure that “Allow computer to turn off this device to save power” and proceed to do this under each Root Hub.
  3. From the Control Panel and Power Options, select the Hibernation Tab and deselect “Enable hibernate support”.

My Razer Blackwidow Chroma does not work correctly with a specific program or game.

Test the device if the issue is persistent in other applications. If the device works fine, then the program is the cause of the issue. If this is the case, feel free to contact Customer Support to report the issue and see if there are any fixes or workarounds for the issue.

Since updating to Windows 10 Razer Synapse does not detect my device and show the correct product configurator anymore.

If you encounter this, perform Synapse update through Settings > Check for Updates. If the updates are not able to run or Synapse not able to load, uninstall Synapse and download the latest Synapse Framework from Razer support site.

Troubleshooting FAQs

Why is a Chroma SDK-supported game not displaying lighting effects on my Razer Chroma keyboard or I am not able to turn on Chroma Apps in Synapse?

To display the Chroma SDK effect on your Razer Chroma keyboard, ensure that you have the latest MS Windows hotfix “Update for the Universal C Runtime in Windows” installed. You may look for an update for your OS on the Microsoft site.

Since I started using Windows 10, my computer will not go into sleep mode and my screen saver mode will not come on.

This happens due to compatibility issues between Joystick devices and Windows 10. To avoid this, disable the game controller device under Device Manager > Human Interface Device > HID-compliant Game Controller. However, note that when you disable the game controller, you might lose virtual joystick-related features in Synapse.

Why am I experiencing keymap switching issue on my Razer Tartarus V2?

To fix this, update the Razer Synapse 3 to the latest version.

Hardware

How do I clean my Razer keyboard?

The overall finish can be cleaned with wipes generally used for cleaning your computer monitor or sunglasses. Ensure that the surface is free of large dust particles or debris before wiping the surface with any product. Wiping debris into the surface can lead to minor scratches on the surface of the unit.

If you wish to clean under the key caps, Razer suggests holding the unit upside down and/or using compressed air from a can.

How can I modify or disassemble my Razer product?

We cannot help you in modifying or disassembling your Razer product since that will void the manufacturer’s warranty on the unit.

What does the thumb-pad do? And how do the other buttons on the Razer keypad function?

The multi-directional thumb-pad is used for navigation by default and the button placements above and below the thumb-pad are mapped to ‘alt’ and ‘spacebar’ respectively. All 3 buttons can be customized to your own key bindings and macros.

Software

What is the difference between “driver” and “firmware” updates the Razer Support Site?

Drivers are installed onto your computer and allow your computer to communicate with your Razer product. Firmware updates are hardware level code to install directly onto the Razer device that can update, fix, or change the functionality of the product.

Where can I find drivers for my Razer product?

You may find your Razer product’s drivers by going to its Support page.

How do I change the language of Configurator?

The language selection is based on the driver version installed on the computer. There is no option in the Customizer. To correct this issue, uninstall the software and download the specific drivers at the Razer Support site. This time, select the correct language of your preference when installing the software.

What is a keymap?

A keymap is a temporary switch of button assignments within a profile. The switch needs to be triggered by pressing a keymap switch button and can either change the keymap only while you hold that designated keymap switch button or cycle through keymaps every time you press the keymap switch button.

Note that while a profile stores information such as dpi or lighting, a keymap purely deals with button assignments.

How many keymaps and profiles can I save for my Razer keypad?

You can save unlimited gaming profiles for your Razer keypad; in addition, there are up to eight (8) keymaps per profile available. You can switch between them on-the-fly during gameplay without accessing the driver software. The keymap LED indicator will light up to show which keymap is currently active.

What do the keys on the Razer keypad represent? How can I change them to my preference?

The default key mapping on Razer keypads is on the left side of a standard keyboard. The keys can be mapped to your preference with the help of Razer Synapse.

Can I bind modifier keys (shift, ctrl, alt) on a Razer keypad?

Yes, you can bind modifier keys (and its key combinations) on Razer keypads and use them in conjunction with other keys to actuate unique commands.

Troubleshooting FAQs

What does the diagnostic report consist of?

The “Diagnose” tool generates a detailed report of your system’s components, settings, and configurations.

If you’re well versed in the ins and outs of your PC this is a great way to get an overview of your computer.

If your knowledge of your hardware isn’t so extensive but you’re looking to upgrade components, the “Diagnose” tool is a useful list to show an expert for advice on where your computer needs improvement.

I downloaded Razer Cortex and created an account, but I can’t log in.

Activate your account by clicking on the verification link in the e-mail that was sent to your registered e-mail address. If the e-mail doesn’t appear in your inbox, don’t forget to check your spam folder. You should be able to log in once your e-mail address has been verified. If you are still having problems logging in, contact our Support Team.

Why can’t I load the Deals and Rewards tab on my Razer Cortex?

This is due to an expired token. To resolve this, log out of your Razer account and then log back in.

I forgot my password, how can I reset it?

Visit https://razerid.razer.com/recovery. You’ll need to enter your registered e-mail address and successfully complete an image verification test. An e-mail will be sent to your registered e-mail address with instructions to reset your password.

One of my games isn’t showing up in my Games section, why is this happening and how can I add it?

Upon startup, Razer Cortex automatically scans your PC for installed games. If your game isn’t showing up, it might not be supported. To manually add games, select the plus icon under the “GAME BOOSTER” tab. If your game doesn’t appear in the list of known applications, click the plus icon at the right side of the window and click the folder icon to browse for games manually.

Why can’t I buy games on Razer Cortex: Deals?

Because Razer Cortex: Deals is a price comparison engine, the purchasing portion is left to the stores themselves. The objective of Razer Cortex: Deals is to give you a clear and unbiased view of where to get the best price for your games.

I am unable to boost a certain game with Razer Cortex. Help?

We are continuously improving compatibility with all games, but a quick solution would be to use the manual “BOOST NOW” button under the “BOOST” tab.

Why should I defrag my game files?

Defragging your game files will improve loading times for your games. When using Defrag, Razer Cortex efficiently organizes game data on your hard drive in the same location. A word of caution though, if you are using a Solid State Drive (SSD), defragging is not necessary or recommended.

I’ve already updated my Razer apps but I still can’t see the Guest option. How will I be able to use this feature?

Try to restart the application twice to clear the login screen’s cache. You’d be able to see the “Continue as Guest” button on its next launch and use Razer Synapse or Razer Cortex as a guest.

How to clean your Razer Mouse Mat

Our mats require minimum maintenance to keep them in optimum condition. However, if you notice any visible dirt buildup, or just want to keep your mats sanitized, we recommend cleaning them with a lint-free microfiber cloth soaked lightly in an alcohol based-solution (at least 70% isopropyl alcohol) and wipe your mat in circular motions. If you are using a Razer Chroma-powered mat, make sure to unplug the mat from your system first.

For Soft Mats:

  • Do not use soap or harsh cleaning agents.
  • Do not place your mouse mat in the washing machine or clean it under running water.
  • Do not fold, roll, or compress the mouse mat.

For Hard Mats:

  • Clean the surface periodically by dampening a cloth with warm tap water and wiping gently.
  • Use only a clean, soft, lint-free cloth, such as a microfiber cloth, as this produce the least amount of friction.
  • Avoid using abrasive sponges or towels as this may damage the mat’s surface.
  • On your mouse, clean its mouse feet thoroughly from time to time for the best possible glide.

How to clean your Razer Blade laptop

To properly clean your Razer Blade laptops, follow the steps below:

  1. Ensure that your Blade is shut down and unplugged from your power adapter. Disconnect all external devices such as mice, keyboards, or monitors.
  2. Take a lint-free microfiber cleaning cloth and gently wet it with an alcohol-based cleaning solution (at least 70% isopropyl alcohol) but do not let it soak. Use this to wipe the surface of your laptop gently but thoroughly.
  3. Be careful and avoid letting excessive moisture near your laptop’s openings. This includes USB ports, speakers, air vents, key switches, and so on. If you wish to clean under the keycaps, we suggest holding the unit upside down or use compressed air to blow off dust. Do not remove the keycaps from your Blade.
  4. For your screen, we recommend using only cleaning solution made specifically for monitors.

Note: Under no circumstances should you submerge your Blade in any type of liquid. Submerging your Blade in any liquid will void its warranty.

How to clean your Razer Keyboard

  1. First, unplug your keyboard from your system. If your device has a passthrough port, disconnect the devices connected to them as well.
  2. Take a lint-free microfiber cleaning cloth and lightly wet it with an alcohol-based cleaning solution (at least 70% isopropyl alcohol). Ensure that the surface is free of visible dust particles or debris before wiping the surface with any product. Wiping debris into the surface can lead to minor scratches.
  3. Keep the moisture away from your device’s openings, particularly under the keycaps.
  4. You can remove the keycaps if your Razer keyboard has removable keycaps. If not, we recommend turning the keyboard upside down and using compressed air to blow off any accumulated dust or debris.

For a guide in removing the keycaps on your keyboard, you can check out How to replace keycaps on a Razer keyboard.

Note: Under no circumstances should you submerge your keyboard in any type of liquid.

How to clean your Razer Phone

Experts say that on average we touch our mobile devices at least 58 times a day to check notifications, play games, and do a variety of other tasks. Therefore, it is important to keep our phones clean and sanitary to prevent the accumulation of dirt and grime that may over time affect performance and overall experience.

  1. Cleaning your Razer phone should be a relatively quick task. All you need is some lint-free microfiber cleaning cloth and an alcohol-based solution (at least 70% isopropyl alcohol).
  2. Unplug all your cables and turn your device off.
  3. Slightly wet your cleaning cloth but do not let it soak. We recommend using alcohol for disinfection and because it evaporates quickly. Remember to apply alcohol to the cloth and not directly to your phone.
  4. Gently wipe the surface of your phone with the cloth. Make sure there are no big, solid particles on the surface of your device before doing so. Visible dirt could act as grit that may scratch the surface of your device.
  5. Be careful to not let moisture enter the phone’s openings such as the charging ports and speakers.

How to clean your Razer Audio Peripheral

Take a lint-free, microfiber cloth and lightly wet it with an alcohol-based cleaning solution (at least 70% isopropyl alcohol).

  2. To clean your earbuds, remove any attached silicone tips and wipe the earbuds with the microfiber cleaning cloth. Be careful not to allow any liquid to penetrate the actual speaker. The silicone tips and cords can be cleaned the same way but let them dry first before re-installing.
