  4. Water Drain: allows you to empty the water from the tank easily.
  5. Max Fill Line: Inside the water tank below the ice tray is a line marking labeled “MAX.” Do not fill the water tank above this line.
  6. Controls/Indicator Lights:

MAINTENANCE

Regular cleaning and maintenance is an essential step in maintaining the longevity of your evaporative cooler and ensuring that it operates free of defects. Maintain your evaporative cooler by following these steps:

GENERAL MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS

1. Always unplug the evaporative cooler from the power supply before servicing or cleaning.
2. Use a soft cloth and a mild soap and warm water solution to clean the unit’s exterior. Do not use harsh cleaners, gasoline, paint thinner, benzene, etc., as these substances can damage the evaporative cooler.
3. Thoroughly dry all of the cooler’s parts with a soft cloth before reconnecting the unit to the power supply.
4. Empty the water tank after the evaporative cooler has been in use. Regular, scheduled cleaning of the water tank before each use is also recommended.
5. If the evaporative cooler will not be in use for an extended period of time, place the unit back in its original carton and keep it stored in a clean, dry place.
6. The evaporative cooler’s filter, tank and cooling pad will need to be removed prior to cleaning. Once all of the different components have been cleaned, place them back into the unit in this order: water tank, cooling pad and dust filter.

CLEANING THE DUST FILTER & COOLING PAD

To prevent clogging of the dust filter, we recommend cleaning the filter at least once a month.

  1. To clean the dust filter, remove it from the back of the unit by pushing down on the two tabs located above the filter and pull it out. Gently scrub it with a soft brush and rinse with water. Allow it to thoroughly air dry before placing it back in the unit.

2. To clean the water tank, rinse it in a warm water and light detergent solution or a water and vinegar solution. Rinse it with clean water and dry it thoroughly before placing it back into the cooler.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Problem Possible Causes Solution
The unit produces no air. The unit is not plugged in. Check to make sure the plug is plugged into an outlet.

The unit should beep twice once the power supply is connected.

The water tank is not locked into the unit. Make sure the water tank is locked into the back of the unit.
The unit does not cool. There is insufficient water in the tank. Check the water level in the tank and make sure there is enough water.
The cooler/humidifier button was not pressed. Press the COOLER/ HUMIDIFER button.
The pump is defective. Contact customer service if there is an issue with the water pump.
The unit does not cool on high speed. The cooling pad is not sufficiently saturated with water. If speed 3 is selected when in cooling mode, the unit will automatically revert to speed 2 for 5 minutes to allow the pad to be fully soaked. The cooler will automatically turn to speed 3 when the pad is soaked.
Water is coming out of the vents. The cooling pad may be clogged with debris. Clean the cooling pad by rinsing it in water and allowing it to thoroughly dry. You can also clean it with a water and vinegar solution. If the problem persists, contact customer service.
Problem Possible Causes Solution
The full tank indicator turns on when there is still enough water in the tank. There is an issue with the water pump’s sensor. Clean the water pump by wiping it down with a damp cloth or try rinsing it with a water and vinegar solution.
The water tank is leaking. There is mineral buildup on the cooling pads. Mix together a water and vinegar solution and pour it in the tank. Turn the cooler on and let the solution run through the pads to break up any buildup that may be clogging the cooling pad.
The water tank is damaged. Contact customer service if there is an issue with the water tank.
There is an odor coming out of the evaporative cooler. The unit is brand new and has never been used before. If the evaporative cooler has never been used before, the unit may emit a slight odor upon initial use. This odor will dissipate within a week.
There is algae buildup in the tank or on the cooling pad. If the evaporative cooler is not new, there may be algae buildup in the tank or on the cooling pad. Clean the tank out with a vinegar/water solution and/or call customer service for a new replacement pad.

  5. Plug in your appliance into an exclusive, properly installed and grounded wall outlet. Do not under any circumstances cut or remove the third (ground) prong from the power cord. Any questions concerning power and/or grounding should be directed to a certified electrician.

We recommend you clean your ice maker thoroughly before using it. Please see Cleaning & Maintenance on page 6 of this guide.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Press the “SELECT” button to choose the ice cube size. If the ambient room temperature is lower than 60°F, it is recommended that you select small or medium sized ice cubes in order to prevent the ice from sticking together.
  2. Open the unit’s cover, remove the ice basket, and pour water into the water reservoir. Keep the water level below the “MAX” line marked inside the reservoir.
  3. Press the “POWER” button on the control panel to begin the ice making cycle.
  4. The ice making cycle lasts anywhere from 6 to 15 minutes, depending on the size of the ice cubes you select and the ambient room temperature. Ice making time may vary significantly in extremely high room temperatures.
  5. Periodically verify the water level in the water reservoir when the ice maker is on. If the water level is too low, the ice maker will automatically stop and the “ADD WATER” indicator light will turn on. Press the “POWER” button, fill the reservoir with water up to the level mark, and press the “POWER” button again to restart the unit. Allow at least 3 minutes for the refrigerant inside the compressor to settle before restarting.
  6. The ice maker automatically stops working when the ice basket is full. The “ICE” indicator light will also turn on at this time.
  7. Change the water in the reservoir every 24 hours to ensure hygienic ice. If the ice maker will not be used for an extended period of time, drain the water from the reservoir by unplugging the drain off cap located on the side of the ice maker.

CLEANING & MAINTENANCE

  1. Unplug the unit and remove the ice basket.
  2. Clean the interior, including the water reservoir, with diluted detergent, warm water and a soft cloth.
  3. Clean the outside of the ice maker with a mild detergent solution and warm water.
  4. Dry the interior and exterior with a soft cloth. 5. Replace the ice basket and plug the unit in again.

To remove the build-up of calcium or other impurities, add a capful of vinegar or lemon juice to the water in the reservoir and run for two or three ice-making cycles. Drain and refill the reservoir with clean, warm water. Run two more cycles to rinse the vinegar or lemon-juice.

When the machine is not in use, open the water drain cap to completely drain the water reservoir.

STORAGE

Before storing your ice maker, clean it according to the directions above and allow it to dry thoroughly (at least 24 hours) in order to prevent the growth of mold or mildew.

Store your ice maker in the original packaging, or cover with a soft cloth or plastic sheet.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Problem Possible Cause Solution
The “ADD WATER” indicator light is on. There is not enough water in the tank. Press the “POWER” button to turn off the unit. Fill the reservoir with water. Press “POWER” to restart.
The “ICE” indicator light is on. The ice basket is full. Remove ice from the basket
The “ADD WATER” and “ICE” lights are both flashing. The ice shovel may be incorrectly positioned. Make sure the ice shovel is properly positioned.
Ice may be blocking the sensor. Remove any ice that may be blocking the sensor.
The ice making cycle appears to be normal but no ice is being produced. The refrigerant may be leaking. Consult a qualified technician
A pipe in the cooling system may be blocked. Consult a qualified technician.
The ice cubes are too small. The ambient temperature or water temperature may be too high. Select large sized ice cubes by pressing the “SELECT” button.
The compressor may need to warm up. If this is the first time the unit is being used, allow the ice maker to cycle a few times. This should result in larger cubes.
The ice has a “plastic” taste. The unit’s interior may need to be cleaned. Add a tablespoon of lemon juice or vinegar to a full tank of water and allow the ice maker to cycle a few times.
The unit produces a large block of ice instead of cubes. The ambient temperature may be too low. Unplug the unit and let the ice thaw out. Allow the ice maker to defrost for a few hours and restart the unit
The ice cubes have a cloudy appearance. There may be trace minerals in your water or ice is being produced too quickly. Ice cubes may develop cloudiness when water is frozen quickly. As ice develops on the surface of water, certain gases can no longer remain dissolved and begin to surface as microscopic bubbles. This cloudiness is normal.
