Getting Started

Primeros Pasos

1. Remove the battery cover.
2. Insert 2 AA batteries. Match the + and – marks.
3. Replace the battery cover.

Note

Make sure TV is ON before starting the remote control setup.

Setup Method

Popular Brands

1. Press and hold SETUP until the LED blinks twice.
2. Press the TV POWER key, LED remains ON.
3. Press and hold down the DIGIT key for your TV brand.
4. Let go of the key when your TV turns off. The setup is complete.

Tip

If your brand does not appear on a popular TV brand chart, try either Method B or Method C to set up the remote to control your TV.

Code Search

1. Press and hold SETUP until the LED blinks twice.
2. Press and hold down the OK/SELECT key.
3. Let go of the OK/SELECT key when the TV turns off.

Direct Code Entry

1. Press and hold SETUP until the LED blinks twice.
2. Enter the 1st TV code for your brand from the code list to the right. LED blinks twice.
3. Press the TV POWER key to test TV control. If the TV turns off, the setup is complete.
4. If TV does not turn off, repeat this process using the next code for your TV brand.

Functional Key Chart

LED does not blink when a key is pressed. Replace batteries. TV does not respond when TV POWER or VOLUME keys are pressed. Program remote control for your TV brand using instructions in Setup Method A, B, or C. Tried all codes for my TV brand, and none worked. Try the CODE SEARCH (Setup Method B) method or go to www.urcsupport.com for additional support and for the CODE FINDER search tool.

Set volume control for the TV

1. Press and hold SETUP until the LED blinks twice.
2. Press VOL +. The LED will blink twice.

Set volume control for the STB

1. Press and hold SETUP until LED blinks twice.
2. Press MUTE. The LED will blink 4 times.

Pulse Pairing Options

RF PAIRING
This remote control is capable of controlling a set-top box(STB) that is hidden from sight when it has been paired with an RF STB or an RF Adapter.
Tip: The STB or RF Adapter that you are using must be compatible with this remote control and the proper pairing method must be used. For the latest list of compatible RF devices, go to www.urcsupport.com/rf
RF Pairing to Set-Top Box
NOTE: Certain set-top boxes (such as EVOLUTION branded boxes) may require the user to put the box into RF PAIRING mode before RF pairing can occur. To do so, locate REMOTE CONTROL in the on-screen MENU and select REMOTE CONTROL PAIRING before following the steps shown below.

1. Press and to hold the SETUP key on the remote until the LED blinks twice.
2. Press the MENU key on the remote and the remote will begin blinking as it attempts to pair.
3. If a PIN number appears on your TV screen, enter that number using the remote numeric keys.
4. The LED on the remote will blink twice to verify success.

RF Pairing to an RF Adapter
To perform RF pairing with an RF adapter, please refer to the instructions provided with the adapter or go to www.urcsupport.com/rf and locate the support page for the RF adapter for more information.

Mediacom DVR Cable Box Installation Guide

What’s Included

Some of the items in your kit may not be necessary but have been included in the event you may need them. Your installation kit should include the following items:

Installing New DVR Cable Box

Step 1: Connect Your New DVR Cable Box

1. Connect coaxial cable from the wall outlet to Cable IN on the DVR Cable Box.
2. Connect HDMI cable from the back of your DVR Cable Box to the HDMI input* on your HDTV.
3. Connect power cord from the back of your DVR Cable Box to the power outlet.

*Please make note of the HDMI input used on the TV as you’ll need to tune your television to this input once you turn it on.

OPTIONAL: If you do not have an HDMI port on the back of your television, connect the second coaxial cable from the back of the television to the port on the new box labeled TO TV.

Step 2: Complete Your Installation

1. Power on your television and your new DVR Cable Box. Using your television remote control, tune the TV to the appropriate HDMI input.
2. Install any additional boxes you may have ordered.
3. Call 1-800-562-9769 and follow the instructions to activate your new box(es).
4. Once each box has been activated, it will turn off automatically. Please wait five minutes before powering it back on.

Once the DVR Cable Box is activated, you will be able to watch television while the guide information is downloading. You may see a “To Be Announced” message displayed until the guide download is complete.

Replacing Previous Cable Box Equipment

Step 1: Disconnect your Previous Cable Box

1. Turn off your television and previous cable box.
2. Disconnect the power cord from the back of your previous cable box and remove it from the power outlet.
   (Your new box may have different power requirements. It is best not to use the old power cord with the new box.)
3. Unscrew and remove the coaxial cable(s) from the ports labeled Cable IN and To TV (if connected) from the back of your previous cable box.
4. Set your previous cable box aside and refer to the section titled, Return your previous cable box.

Step 2: Connect Your New DVR Cable Box

1. Connect coaxial cable from the wall outlet to Cable IN on the back of your DVR Cable Box.
2. Connect HDMI cable from the back of your DVR Cable Box to the HDMI input* on your HDTV.
3. Connect power cord from the back of your DVR Cable Box to the power outlet.

*Please make note of the HDMI input used on the TV as you’ll need to tune your television to this input once you turn it on.

OPTIONAL: If you do not have an HDMI port on the back of your television, connect the second coaxial cable from the back of the television to the port on the new box labeled TO TV

Step 3: Complete Your Installation

1. Power on your television and your new DVR Cable Box. Using your television remote control, tune the TV to the apprpriate HDMI input.
2. Install any additional boxes you may have ordered.
3. Call 1-800-562-9769 and follow the instructions to activate your new box(es).
4. Once each box has been activated, it will turn off automatically. Please wait five minutes before powering it back on.

Return Your Previous Cable Box

1. Return your previous cable box by placing it into the shipping box. Please make sure to include all items being replaced such as the power cord and remote.
2. Close and seal the box.
3. Place the enclosed return label on the outside of the box, completely covering the previous shipping label(s).
4. Refer to the letter within your equipment kit for mailing instructions.

Note: If the unused equipment is not received within 15 business days, this may result in an unreturned equipment charge. This charge will be removed from your account when Mediacom receives the equipment.
