  • The outside of the refrigerator should be cleaned with mild detergent and warm water.
  • Dry the interior and exterior with a soft cloth.
  • Turn the temperature control knob to “O” and then unplug the unit from the wall outlet.
  • Remove all the food.
  • Clean the refrigerator.
  • Leave the door open slightly to avoid possible formation of condensation, mold, or odor.
  • Use extreme caution in the case of children. The unit should not be accessible to child’s play.
  • Short vacations: Leave the refrigerator operating during vacations of less than three weeks.
  • Long vacations: If the appliance will not be used for several months, remove all food and unplug the power cord. Clean and dry the interior thoroughly. To prevent odor and mold growth, leave the door open slightly: blocking it open if necessary or have the door removed.
  • Turn the temperature control knob to “O” and then unplug the unit from the wall outlet.
  • Remove all the food.
  • Securely tape down all loose items inside your refrigerator.
  • Tape the doors shut.
  • Be sure the refrigerator stays in the upright position during transportation.
  • The refrigerator should be located in the coolest area of the room, away from heat producing appliances or heating ducts, and out of the direct sunlight.
  • Let hot foods cool to room temperature before placing in the refrigerator. Overloading the refrigerator forces the compressor to run longer. Foods that freeze too slowly may lose quality, or spoil.
  • Be sure to wrap foods properly, and wipe containers dry before placing them in the refrigerator.
This cuts down on frost build-up inside the refrigerator.
  • Organize and label food to reduce door openings and extended searches. Remove as many items as needed at one time, and close the door as soon as possible.

FAQ’S

How long does it take for Magic Chef mini fridge to cool?

4 hours are required for the refrigerator to cool down completely. Temperature inside the refrigerator is too cold. Temperature control is set too cold. Turn the control to a warmer setting and allow several hours for the temperature to stabilize.

How do I know if my refrigerator is working properly?

Check the temperature control dial on the front of your appliance to make sure it is set at the proper temperature. If the dial is set too high, food will spoil quickly. If it is set too low, your appliance will not work properly. Check the temperature of your freezer compartment with an appliance thermometer. The temperature should be between 0°F and 5°F (-18°C and -15°C). If it is not, adjust the temperature control dial until it reaches the proper setting. Make sure that all doors are closed tightly to keep cold air in and warm air out. Check your owner’s manual for other tips on how to keep your appliance working properly.

Why do you have to wait 24 hours to plug in a fridge?

Its because the compressor lubrication oil could get into the cylinder of the compressor and if not given plenty of time to drain back into the oil sump at the bottom of the compressor, could cause major compressor valve damage on start up. 2 or more hours is a good rule to observe.

After being transported, unless it’s been kept totally upright, the oil inside the compressor may leak into the refrigeration system. This oil needs to slowly settle back into the compressor.

What is the red button for in a Magic Chef refrigerator?

It is used to defrost your mini fridge. If you turn the temp down and press the button the fridge will defrost the freezer portion.

Why is my Magic Chef refrigerator not cooling?

  1. Remove the box packaging by lifting up and away from the base cushion. (Refer to figure 4.)
  2. Open the lid of washer to take out all accessories including protection foam. (Refer to Figure 5.)

WARNING: Packaging materials can be dangerous to children; Keep all packaging material (plastic bags, polystyrene, etc.) well out of children’s reach. Use of washer with the foam cushion is strictly prohibited.

LOCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • For best performance, you must install your washer on a solidly constructed floor. Wood floors may need to be reinforced to minimize vibration and/or unbalanced load situations.
  • Carpeting and soft tile surfaces are contributing factors to vibration which can cause your washer to move slightly during the spin cycle.

WARNING: DO NOT install your washer in areas where water may freeze, since your washer will always retain some water in its water valve, pump, and hose areas. Frozen water can damage the belts, the pump, hoses, and other components. NEVER install on a platform or weakly supported structure.

  • Use 120Volt 60Hz 15 Amps fuse or circuit breaker.
  • Individual branch circuit serving only for your washer is recommended

WARNING: NEVER use an extension cord.

  • Electrical grounding is required for this washer.
  • This appliance must be grounded. In the event of malfunction or breakdown, grounding will reduce the risk of electric shock by providing a path of least resistance for electric current.
  • This appliance is equipped with a power cord having a three-prong grounding plug for use in a properly installed and grounded outlet.
  • The plug must be plugged into an appropriate outlet that is properly installed and grounded in accordance with all local codes and ordinances.

WARNING: An improperly connected equipment-grounding conductor can increase the risk of electrical shock. Check with a qualified technician if you are not sure whether the appliance is properly grounded. DO NOT modify the plug provided with the appliance. If it does not fit the outlet, have a proper outlet installed by a qualified technician. To prevent unnecessary risk of fire, electrical shock or personal injury, all wiring and grounding must be done in accordance with the National Electrical Code ANSI/FNPA, No.70 Latest Revision and local codes and ordinances. It is the personal responsibility of the appliance owner to provide adequate electrical service for this appliance.

WARNING: NEVER connect the ground wire to plastic plumbing lines, gas lines, or hot water pipes.

  • To correctly fill your washer in the proper amount of time, water pressure of 14 to 70psi (100 to 500 kPa) is required.
  • Water pressure less than 14psi may cause water valve failure, or may not allow the water valve to shut off completely, or may extend the fill time beyond what your washer controls allow, causing your washer to turn off and alarm error.
  • A time limit is built into the controls to prevent flooding in your home if a hose becomes loose.
  • The water faucet must be within 4 feet / 122cm of the back of your washer to match the inlet hoses provided with your washer.
  • To avoid the possibility of water damage:
    – Have water faucets easily accessible
    – Turn off faucets when the washer is not in use.
    – Periodically check that there is no leakage from the water inlet hose fittings.
  • The recommended height of the standpipe is 35in. or 90cm.
  • The drain hose must be routed through the drain hose clip to the standpipe.
  • The standpipe must be large enough to accept the outside diameter of the drain hose.
INSTALLATION

WARNING: Before installing, make sure there are rubber gaskets inside the fittings at both ends of the water supply hoses. (Refer to Figure 8.) If there are no water inlet hoses packed with the washer or if the hoses are damaged, call 888-775-0202. Installing the water supply hoses without rubber gaskets can cause water leakage. When you initially install the washer, be sure to use new hoses. Failing to do so may result in a water leakage or overflow and may damage your property. If a hose is too short, replace the hose with a longer, high pressure hose.

Tilt the unit back onto its rear rollers and push it forward as shown in the figure to your right. (Refer to Figure 9.) Move the unit to a location as described in the previous Location Requirements section Above.

WARNING: Make sure the location has a hard, level surface without carpeting.

    ●  If the faucet has external screw threads, remove the gasket from the top of the faucet fitting, and screw the fitting over the external threads.
    ● Pull back on the white ring to connect the two parts of the adaptor back together.
NOTE: When connected to a single faucet, be sure to only run cold water washers.
  2. Connect the ends of the water supply hoses to the COLD water faucet. (Refer to Figure 13.) For convenience, use the Quick Connection Adaptor for connection to the cold water faucet. See instructions for Quick Connection Adaptor Use in Step 1 above.
  3. Tighten the fittings by hand until they are snug, and then tighten them an additional two-thirds of a turn with a wrench.
WARNING: When you fasten the fittings, DO NOT fasten them too tightly or apply tape or sealant to the faucets or water supply intakes. This can damage the fittings. After you have connected the water supply hoses to the faucets, ensure that they are connected securely by pulling the water supply hoses downwards.
  4. Place the unconnected ends of the hoses into a bucket and open the faucets connected to the two water supply hoses for 10 or 15 seconds to remove any foreign substances from the hoses. Close the faucets before continuing.
  5. Connect the ends of the water supply hoses to the water supply intake connections at the top of the washer.
WARNING: The water hose connected to the COLD faucet must be connected to the cold water supply intake.
  6. Tighten the fittings by hand until they are snug, and then tighten them an additional two-thirds of a turn with a wrench.
WARNING: Confirm that the water supply hoses are not twisted or bent. If the hoses are twisted or bent, the hoses can leak and cause electric shock due to the water leakage. To ensure the correct water usage, connect the COLD water faucets.

Water leaking Inlet hose connection is loose at faucet or washer.
House drain pipes are clogged. Drain hose has come out of drain or is not inserted far enough.
A large item such as a pillow or blanket is above the top of the tub.
Check hoses for leaks, cracks and splits. Check and tighten hose connections.
The washer pumps out water very rapidly.
Check for water backing up out of the Drain pipe during drain. If water is seen coming out of the drain, check for proper drain hose installation and check for Restrictions in drain. Contact a plumber to repair drain pipe. Tie drain hose to inlet hose or standpipe to prevent it from coming out during drain. For smaller drain pipes, insert the drain hose into the pipe as far as the drain hose flange. For larger drain pipes, insert the drain hose into the pipe 1-2 in. past the flange . Stop the washer and check the load. Make sure the load does not crest above the top edge of the tub.
Rattling and clanking noise Foreign objects, such as keys, coins, or safety pins, may be in tub or pump. Stop washer, check tub and drain filter for foreign objects. If noise continues after washer is restarted, call for service.
Wrinkling Washer not unloaded promptly. Washer overloaded.
Hot and cold water inlet hoses are reversed.
ALWAYS remove items from the washer as soon as the cycle is complete. The washer can be fully loaded, but the tub should not be tightly packed with items. The lid of the washer should close easily. Hot water rinse can set wrinkles in garments. Check the inlet hose connections.
Staining Washer was not unloaded promptly.
Clothes were not properly sorted.
ALWAYS remove items from the washer as soon as possible after the cycle is complete. ALWAYS wash dark colors separately from light colors and whites to prevent discoloration. NEVER wash heavily soiled items washed with lightly soiled items.
Wash cycle time is longer than usual The washer automatically adjusts the wash time for the amount of laundry, water pressure and other operating conditions. This is normal. The washer adjusts cycle time automatically to provide optimal results for the selected cycle.
The time remaining shown in the display is only an estimate. Actual time may vary.
Musty or mildew odor in washer Incorrect or too much detergent has been used. Inside of tub was not cleaned properly. Use only High-Efficiency (HE) detergent in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. Run an Express cycle with bleach once a month to clean tub and remove any mold from inside washer.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Before Using Your Refrigerator
  • Remove the exterior and interior packing.
  • Before connecting the refrigerator to the power source, let it stand upright for approximately 4 hours. This will reduce the possibility of a malfunction in the cooling system from improper handling during transportation.
  • Clean the interior surface with lukewarm water using a soft cloth. (Cleaning instruction on page 7)
Installing Your Refrigerator
  • This appliance is designed to be free standing only, and should not be recessed or built-in.
  • Place your refrigerator on a floor that is strong enough to support the refrigerator when it is fully loaded.
  • Allow 5 inches of space between the back and sides of the refrigerator, which allows the proper air ventilation. Adjust the feet to keep the refrigerator level.
  • Locate the refrigerator away from direct sunlight and sources of heat (stove, heater, radiator, etc.). Direct sunlight may affect the acrylic coating and heat sources may increase electrical consumption. Ambient temperature below 50°F (10°C) or above 85°F (29.4°C) will hinder the performance of this appliance. This unit is not designed for use in a garage or any other outside installation.
  • Avoid locating the refrigerator in moist areas.
  • Plug the refrigerator into dedicated, properly installed-grounded wall outlet. Do not under any circumstances cut or remove the third (ground) prong from the power cord. Any questions concerning power and/or grounding should be directed toward a certified electrician or an authorized service center. This unit is not designed to be installed in an RV or used with an inverter.
  • After plugging the appliance into a wall outlet, turn the unit on and allow the unit to cool down for 2~3 hours under before placing food in the refrigerator or freezer compartment.
Electrical Connection

Improper use of the grounded plug can result in the risk of electrical shock. If the power cord is damaged, have it replaced by an authorized service center.

This refrigerator should be properly grounded for your safety. The power cord of this refrigerator is equipped with a three-prong plug which mates with standard three prong wall outlets to minimize the possibility of electrical shock.

Do not, under any circumstances, cut or remove the third ground prong from the power cord supplied.

This refrigerator requires a standard 115/120 Volt A.C. ~/60Hz electrical outlet with three-prong ground.

This refrigerator is not designed to be used with an inverter.

The cord should be secured behind the refrigerator and not left exposed or dangling to prevent accidental injury.

Never unplug the refrigerator by pulling the power cord. Always grip the plug firmly and pull straight out from the receptacle.

Do not use an extension cord with this appliance. If the power cord is too short, have a qualified electrician or service technician install an outlet near the appliance. Use of an extension cord can negatively affect the performance of the unit.

If any problems with the appliance persist, please contact our Customer Service Dept. to consult with a representative at 888 775-0202 or visit our website to request warranty service at www.mcappliance.com.

OPERATING YOUR REFRIGERATOR

Temperature Control

  • Your refrigerator has one control for regulating the temperature. The temperature control is located on the upper right hand corner of the interior compartment.
  • The first time you turn the unit on, adjust the temperature control knob to “4” and run for at least 2 hours before putting foods inside. This will ensure the cabinet is thoroughly chilled before food is put in.
  • The range of the refrigerator temperature control is from position “1” the warmest to “6” the coldest. Adjust the temperature control to the setting that best suits your needs. The setting of “4” should be appropriate for home or office refrigerator use.
  • Turning the temperature control knob to “OFF” position stops the cooling cycle but does not shut off the power to the unit.

NOTE;

  • If the unit is unplugged, loses power; you must wait 3 to 5 minutes before restarting the unit. If you attempt to restart before this time delay, the refrigerator will not start.
  • Large amounts of food will lower the cooling efficiency of the appliance.
  • Do not place the foods on the air outlet, and leave spaces for airflow.
  • If you choose to change the thermostat setting, adjust thermostat control by one increment at a time. Allow several hours for temperature to stabilize between adjustments.
Ice Tray

  • Recommended temperature control setting for ice making is “6”.
  • Fill the ice cube tray (2/3 capacity) with cold water and place the tray on the bottom of the chiller compartment to freeze properly.
  • To eject the ice cubes from the tray, place over the ice bucket and twist slightly.
  • Re-set the temperature control to setting “4”.
The Chiller Compartment
  • This compartment is designed for the ice making and short-term storage of some commercially frozen foods.
  • The temperature of the chiller compartment may not reach temperature low enough to store frozen foods safely and works well when the food is already frozen prior to storage.
  • Place frozen food into the freezer as quickly as possible after purchase. If there are instructions on the packet, carefully follow these instructions regarding storage times.

CHANGING THE REVERSIBLE DOOR

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

Cleaning Your Refrigerator
  • Upon installation of your new appliance, it is recommended that it be cleaned thoroughly.
  • Turn off the refrigerator first and then unplug the unit from the wall outlet.
  • Remove all food content.
  • Wash the inside with a damp warm cloth soaked in lukewarm water and baking soda solution. The solution should be about 2 tablespoons of baking soda to a quart of water.
  • Be sure to keep the door gasket (seal) clean to keep the unit running efficiently.
  • The outside of the refrigerator should be cleaned with mild detergent and warm water.
  • Dry the interior and exterior with a soft cloth.
Vacation Time
  • Turn off the refrigerator first and then unplug the unit from the wall outlet.
  • Remove all the food.
  • Clean the refrigerator.
  • Leave the lid open slightly to avoid possible formation of condensation, mold, or odors.
Moving Your Refrigerator
  • Turn off the refrigerator first and then unplug the unit from the wall outlet.
  • Remove all the food.
  • Securely tape down all loose items inside your refrigerator.
  • Tape the doors shut.
  • Be sure the refrigerator stays in the upright position during transportation.
Energy Saving Tips

EN-8

MICROWAVE OVEN USE

A magnetron in the microwave oven produces micro waves which reflect off the metal floor, walls and
ceiling and pass through the turntable and appropriate cookware to the food. Microwaves are attracted to and absorbed by fat, sugar and water molecules in the food, causing them to move, producing friction and heat which cooks the food.
1. To avoid damage to the microwave oven, do not lean on or allow children to swing on the microwave oven door.
2. To avoid damage to the microwave oven, do not operate when it is empty.

Cooking Guidelines
Covering Covering food helps retain moisture, shorten cook time and reduce spattering. Use the lid supplied with cookware. If a lid is not available, wax paper, paper towels or plastic wrap approved for microwave ovens may be used. Plastic wrap should be turned back at one corner to provide an opening to vent steam.Condensation on the door and cavity surfaces is normal during heavy cooking.
Stirring and Turning

3. Baby bottles and baby food jars should not be heated in microwave oven.
4. Clothes, flowers, fruit, herbs, wood, gourds, paper,

Stirring and turning redistribute heat evenly to avoid over
cooking the outer edges of food. Stir from outside to center. If possible, turn food over from bottom to top.

including brown paper bags and newspaper, should
not be dried in microwave oven. 5. Paraffin wax will not melt in the microwave oven
because it does not absorb microwaves. 6. Use oven mitts or pot holders when removing con
tainers from microwave oven.

Arranging
If heating irregularly shaped or different sized foods, arrange the thinner parts and smaller sized items toward the center. If cooking several items of the same size and shape, place them in a ring pattern, leaving the center of the ring empty.

7. Do not overcook potatoes. At the end of the reco mmended cook time, potatoes should be slightly
firm. Let potatoes stand for 5 minutes. They will finish cooking while standing. 8. Do not cook or reheat whole eggs inside the shell. Steam buildup in whole eggs may cause them to burst, requiring significant cleanup of microwave
oven cavity. Cover poached eggs and allow a standing time.

Piercing Before heating, use a fork or small knife to pierce or prick foods that have a skin or membrane, such as potatoes, egg yolks, chicken livers, hot dogs, and sausage. Prick in several places to allow steam to vent.
Shielding Use small, flat pieces of aluminum foil to shield the thin pieces of irregularly shaped foods, bones and foods such as chicken wings, leg tips and fish tail. See “Aluminum Foil

Food Characteristics

and Metal” first.

When microwave cooking, the amount, size and shape, starting temperature, composition and density of the food affect cooking results.

Standing Time
Food will continue to cook by the natural conduction of heat even after the microwave cooking cycle ends. The length of standing time depends on the volume and density of the food.

Amount of Food

The more food heated at once, the longer the cook time

needed. Check for doneness and add small increments of time if necessary.
Size and Shape

Cookware and Dinnerware
Cookware and dinnerware must fit on the turntable. Always use oven mitts or pot holders when handling

CARE OF YOUR MICROWAVE OVEN

The oven should be cleaned regularly and any food deposits removed. Failure to maintain the oven in a clean condition could lead to deterioration of the surface that could adversely affect the life of the appliance and possibly result in a hazardous situation.

1 Unplug the power cord before cleaning any part of this oven.
2 Keep the inside of the oven clean. When food spatters or spilled liquids adhere to oven walls, wipe with a damp cloth. Mild detergent may be used if the oven gets very dirty. The use of harsh detergent or abrasives is not recommended.
3 The outside oven surface should be cleaned with soap and water, rinsed and dried with a soft cloth. To prevent damage to the operating parts inside the oven, water should not be allowed to seep into the ventilation openings.
4 If the Control Panel becomes wet, clean with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use harsh detergents or abrasives on Control Panel.

no way indicates malfunction of the unit.
6 It is occasionally necessary to remove the glass tray for cleaning. Wash the tray in warm sudsy water or in a dishwasher.
7 The roller guide and oven cavity floor should be cleaned regularly to avoid excessive noise. Simply wipe the bottom surface of the oven with mild detergent water or window cleaner and dry.

5 If steam accumulates inside or around the outside of the oven door, wipe with a soft cloth. This may occur when the microwave oven is operated under high humidity conditions and in

BEFORE YOU CALL FOR SERVICE

Refer to following checklist, you may prevent an unnecessary service call.

* The oven doesn’t work : 1. Check that the power cord is securely plugged in. 2. Check that the door is firmly closed. 3. Check that the cooking time is set. 4. Check for a blown circuit fuse or tripped main circuit breaker in your house.

* Sparking in the cavity; 1. Check utensils. Metal containers or dishes with metal trim should not be used. 2. Check that metal skewers or foil does not touch the interior walls.
If there is still a problem, contact the service station. A list of these stations is included in the oven.

CARE AND CLEANING

Although your oven is provided with safety features, it is important to observe the following:

1. It is important not to defeat or tamper with safety interlocks.
2. Do not place any object between the oven front face and the door or allow residue to accumulate on sealing surfaces. Wipe the sealing area frequently with a mild detergent, rinse and dry. Never use abrasive powders or pads.
3. When opened, the door must not be subjected to strain, for example, a child hanging on an opened door or any load could cause the oven to fall forward to cause injury and also damage to the door. Do not operate the oven if it is damaged, until it has been repaired by a competent service technician. It is particularly important that the oven closes properly and that there is no damage to the:

i) Door(bent) ii) Hinges and Hookes(broken or loosened) iii) Door seals and sealing surfaces.
4. The oven should not be adjusted or repaired by anyone except a properly competent service technician.
5. The oven should be cleaned regularly and any food deposits removed;
6. Failure to maintain the oven in a clean condition could lead to deterioration of the surface that could adversely affect the life of the appliance and possibly result in a hazardous situation.

EN-15

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

* Q : Can the oven be used with the glass tray or roller guide removed?
* A : No. Both the glass tray and roller guide must always be used in the oven before cooking.
* Q : Can I open the door when the oven is operating?
* A : The door can be opened anytime during the cooking operation. Then microwave energy will be instantly switched off and the time setting will maintain until the door is closed.
* Q : Why do I have moisture in my microwave oven after cooking?
* A : The moisture on the side of your microwave oven is normal. It is caused by steam from cooking food hitting the cool oven surface.
* Q : Does microwave energy pass through the viewing screen in the door?
* A : No. The metal screen bounces back the energy to the oven cavity. The holes are made to allow light to pass through. They do not let microwave energy pass through.
* Q : Why do eggs sometimes pop? * A : When baking or poaching eggs, the yolk may
pop due to steam build-up inside the yolk membrane. To prevent this, simply pierce the yolk with a toothpick before cooking. Never cook eggs without piercing their shells.
* Q : Why this standing time recommended after the cooking operation has been completed?
* A : Standing time is very important. With microwave cooking, the heat is in the food, not in the oven. Many foods build up enough internal heat to allow the cooking process to continue, even after the food is removed from the oven. Standing time for joints of meat, large vegetables and cakes is to allow the inside to cook completely, without overcooking the outside.

* Q : What does “standing time” mean? * A : “Standing time” means that food should be
removed from the oven and covered for additional time to allow it to finish cooking. This frees the oven for other cooking.
* Q : Why does my oven not always cook as fast as the microwave cooking guide says?
* A : Check your cooking guide again, to make sure you’ve followed directions exactly ; and to see what might cause variations in cooking time. Cooking guide times and heat settings are suggestions, to help prevent over-cooking… the most common problem in getting used to a microwave oven. Variations in the size, shape and weights and dimensions could require longer cooking time. Use your own judgement along with the cooking guide suggestions to check whether the food has been properly cooked just as you would do with a conventional cooker.
* Q : Will the microwave oven be damaged if it operates while empty?
* A : Yes. Never run it empty.
* Q : Can I operate my microwave oven without the turntable or turn the turntable over to hold a large dish?
* A : No. If you remove or turn over the turntable, you will get poor cooking results. Dishes used in your oven must fit on the turntable.
* Q : Is it normal for the turntable to turn in either direction?
* A : Yes. The turntable rotates clockwise or counterclockwise, depending on the rotation of the motor when the cooking cycle begins.
* Q : Can I pop popcorn in my microwave oven? How do I get the best results?
* A : Yes. Pop packaged microwave popcorn following manufacture’s guidelines. Do not use regular paper bags. Use the “listening test” by stopping the oven as soon as the popping slows to a “pop” every 1 or 2 seconds. Do not repop unpopped kernels. Do not pop popcorn in glass cookware.

EN-16

USE YOUR MICROWAVE OVEN SAFELY

General Use
Do not attempt to defeat or tamper with safety interlocks. Do not place any object between the oven front frame and the door or allow residue to build up on sealing surfaces. Wipe with a mild detergent, rinse and dry. Never use abrasive powders or pads. Do not subject the oven door to strain or weight such as a child hanging on an open door. This could cause the oven to fall forward resulting in injury to you and damage to the oven.

Do not operate the oven if door seals or sealing surfaces are damaged; or if door is bent; or if hinges are loose or broken. Do not operate the oven empty. This will damage the oven. Do not attempt to dry clothes, newspapers or other materials in the oven. They may catch on fire. Do not use recycled paper products as they may contain impurities which may cause sparks or fires. Do not hit or strike the control panel with hard objects. This can damage the oven.

Food
Never use your microwave oven for home canning. The oven is not designed for proper home canning. Improperly canned food may spoil and be dangerous to consume. Always use the minimum recipe cooking time. It is better to undercook rather than overcook foods. Undercooked foods can be returned to the oven for more cooking. If food is overcooked, nothing can be done. Heat small quantities of food or foods with low moisture carefully. These can quickly dry out, burn or catch on fire. Do not heat eggs in the shell. Pressure may build up and eggs can explode. Potatoes, apples, egg yolks and sausages are examples of food with non-porous skins. These must be pierced before cooking to prevent bursting. Do not attempt to deep fat fry in your microwave oven. Always allow a standing time of at least 20 seconds after the oven has been switched off to allow the

temperature to even out, stir during heating, if necessary, and ALWAYS stir after heating. To prevent eruptive boiling and possible scalding, you should put a spoon or glass stick into the beverages and stir before, during and after heating. Do not leave the oven unattended while popping corn. Do not pop corn in a paper bag unless it is the commercially prepared Microwave Popcorn product. The kernels can overheat and ignite a brown paper bag. Do not put packaged Microwave Popcorn bags directly on the oven tray. Place the package on a microwave safe glass or ceramic plate to avoid overheating and cracking the oven tray. Do not exceed the Microwave Popcorn manufacturers suggested popping time. Longer popping does not yield more popcorn but it can result in buring the popcorn or risk of fire. Remember, the Popcorn bag and tray can be too hot to handle. Remove with caution and use pot holders.

ARCING

If you see arcing, touch the STOP/CANCEL pad and correct the problem.

Arcing is the microwave term for sparks in the oven. Arcing is caused by:
· Metal or foil touching the side of the oven. · Foil not molded to food (upturned edges act like
antennas).

· Metal, such as twist-ties, poultry pins, or gold rimmed dishes, in the microwave.
· Recycled paper towels containing small metal pieces being used in the microwave.

LOCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • The air necessary for the combustion of the gas must be able to flow into the room naturally. The air must flow into the room directly through openings in the outside walls. These openings must have an unobstructed cross-section not less than 2m³/h for each kw of power. The opening must be constructed so that it will not be obstructed from inside or outside, or constructed close to the floor.
  • The opening is recommended to be on the side opposite to that on which the flue gases are discharged.
  • Avoid placing cabinetry directly above cooktop when possible. If cabinetry is used above cooking surface, use cabinet no more than 13” deep.
  • Working areas adjacent to the cooktop should have a 18” minimum clearance between countertop and cabinet bottom. Make sure the wall coverings, countertop and cabinets around the cooktop can withstand
heat (up to 200°F) generated by the cooktop.

Maintain 30” minimum clearance between cooktop surface and cabinets installed above the cooktop.
    – If a range hood is installed above the cooktop, it is important that the 30” minimum clearance between the cooktop and bottom of the range hood is maintained. The range hood must be connected directly
to flues or to the outside.
    – A range hood with minimum 350 CFM that projects at least 5” beyond front of cabinets can reduce risk of burns caused by reaching over heated surface units.

LP Gas

Minimum Inlet Pressure: 11” WCP (Water Column Pressure) Maximum Supply Pressure: 12” WCP (Water Column Pressure)

NOTE: Contact your local gas supplier if you are not sure about the inlet pressure. The pressure regulator must be connected in series with the manifold of the cooktop and must remain in series with the supply line
regardless the type of gas being used.

Gas Shut-Off Valve

The gas supply line must be equipped with a manual shut-off valve. This valve should be located in the same room but external to the cooktop. It should be in a location that allows ease of opening and closing. DO NOT
block access to shut-off valve. The valve is for turning on or shutting off gas to the cooktop. (Refer to Figure 10.)

IMPORTANT: It is important to know how and where to shut off the gas supply to the cooktop.

  1.  The gas inlet is located on the bottom of the cooktop at the rear and 8½ from the right hand edge of the cooktop. Make gas connection through rear wall, or on cabinet floor at rear. Install the house gas supply at
least 1” from the back wall.
  2. When installing, fit a safety tap at the end of the pipeline. The cooktop is manufactured and tested for natural gas.
IMPORTANT: Make sure the type of gas being supplied to the cooktop is the same as that show on the label affixed to the underside of the cooktop.
NOTE: All connections must be wrench-tightened. Use only pipe-joint compound made for use with Natural and LP gas.
  3.  Install the pressure regulator with the arrow pointing up toward the bottom of the cooktop base and in
position where you can reach the regulator cap.
DO NOT make connections to the gas regulator too tight. Making the connections too tight may crack
the regulator and cause gas leak.
DO NOT allow the regulator to turn on the pipe when tightening.
  4. Apply Natural Gas/LP Gas pipe joint compound to the smaller thread ends of the flexible connector adapters.
  5. Attach 1 adapter and nipple to the gas pressure regulator and the other adapter and nipple to the gas shut-of
valve. Tighten both adapters and nipples.
  6. Using a wrench and pliers attach the flexible connector to both adapters. Check to ensure the connector is
    not kinked or damaged.
Completing Gas Connection

  3. Operation of the electric ignitors should be tested after the cooktop and supply line have been carefully checked for leaks and the cooktop has been connected to the electrical power. To check igniters, push and turn a burner valve to the light positon. All sparks will make a series of sparks, but only the burner turned to LITE with light.

HOW TO CHECK OPERATION

How to Adjust Standard Burner

IMPORTANT: Adjustments must be made with two other burners in operation on a medium setting. This prevents the upper row of the flames from being set too low, resulting in the flame being extinguished when other burners are turned on.

  1. Turn all burners on the highest setting and check the flames. The flames should all be blue in color (LP gas will have blue flames with yellow tips). Foreign particles in the gas line may cause an orange flame at first, but should disappear in a short period of time.
  2. Light one burner and turn to the lowest setting.
  3. Remove the control knob to the desired burner that you wish to adjust.
  4. Insert screwdriver through the access hole in the valve shaft. (Refer to Figure 19 .)
  5. Slowly turn the screw until the flame appearance is correct. If the flames are too small or fluttered, open the valve more than the original setting. If the flames are too large, close the valve more than the original setting.

Testing Flame Stability

  • Test 1: Turn the control knob from “HI” to “LO” quickly. If the upper row of flames goes out at this setting, increase the flame size and test again.
  • Test 2: With the burner on “LO”, open and close the cabinet door under the cooktop. If the flame is extinguished by the air currents created by the door movement, increase the flame height and re-test.

Flame Check

  • After all the flame adjustments have been made, turn all burners to the off position.
  • “LITE” each burner individually and observe the flame at the “HI” position.
  • Rotate the burner knob to the lowest setting and be sure the flame size decreases as the knob is rotated counter-clockwise.

OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS

WARNING: Fire Hazard

  • DO NOT operate a burner using empty cookware or without cookware on the grate.
  • DO NOT touch the burner when the igniters are clicking (sparking).
  • DO NOT let the burner flame extend beyond the edge of the pan. Turn off all controls when done cooking. Failure to do so can result in death or fire.
  • ALWAYS use the LITE position when igniting the top burners and make sure the burners have ignited.
  • NEVER leave the surface burners unattended at high flame settings. Boil overs can cause smoke and greasy spillovers that may catch on fire.
  • ALWAYS turn cookware handles toward the side or back of the range without extending over adjacent burners.
  • ALWAYS turn the burner controls off before removing the cookware.

CAUTION: Excessive flames are hazardous. Adjust the burner flame size so it does not extend beyond the edge of the cookware.
CAUTION: When utilizing pot holders. Only use dry pot/pan holders as moist or damp pot holders to hot surfaces may result in burns from steam. DO NOT let pot holders come near open flames when lifting cookware.
CAUTION: When utilizing glass cookware. Make sure the glass cookware is suitable for top range cooking.
CAUTION: Keep all plastic items away from the cooktop as they may melt if left too close to the heat.
CAUTION: When removing the cooking grates, ALWAYS be certain that the controls for all burners are set to off. Make sure all cooking grates are cool before attempting to remove them

COOKTOP

BURNERS

  • Place a burner cap on each burner head, matching the cap size to the head size. (Refer to Figure 22.)
  • The cap for each burner has an inner locating ring which centers the cap correctly on the burner head.
  • Be sure that all the burner caps and burner heads are correctly placed BEFORE using your appliance.
  • The color of the flame will reflect the proper burner adjustment. A good flame should be clear, blue and steady. If the flame is yellow-orange in color then the burner needs to be adjusted or cleaned.

ELECTRIC GAS IGNITION

The gas burners utilize an electric ignition device located near each burner. By the means of spark igniters ensure the surface cooktop to light automatically.

  1. Push in and turn the control knob counterclockwise to the LITE position. All surface burners will click but only the burner with control knob turned to LITE will produce a flame.
  2. After the burner ignites, keep the knob pressed down for 10 seconds. (Refer to Figure 24.) This allows the thermocouple to heat up and activate the safety valve.
  3. Check the flame to be even and then turn control knob to the desired flame size.
CAUTION: ALWAYS use caution when lighting burners manually.
  4.  In the instances of a power outage, carefully hold a lighted match to the burner ports and push and turn the gas control knob to HI until it lights and then turn the knob to the desired setting.

NOTE: ALWAYS position cooking cookware on the burner grate BEFORE lighting the burner.
CAUTION: The flame SHOULD NOT extend beyond the sides or the pot or pan.
NOTE: If any burner flame goes out due to draft or other reasons, the gas valve will shut off the gas supply. To re-ignite the burner, turn the gas valve to the ignition setting and push down the knob to ignite the burner

COOKWARE

CAUTION: NEVER extend the flame beyond the outer edge of the cookware. (Refer to Figure 25.)
DO NOT use cookware that is unstable or easily tippable as this can increase the chances of spill over and serious injury. To avoid spillover make sure cookware is large enough to contain the food properly.
DO NOT let the burner flames extend beyond the edge of the pan.

Use of cookware lids

Only use lids that are fitted for the cookware. This will allow shorten and more efficient cooking time. Cooking with Canners and Pressure Cooker
The canner and pressure cooker must meet the required standards for cooktop cooking. Check to ensure the canner/pressure cooker has a flat bottom surface and is evenly balanced on the cooktop. Also check to ensure the lid fits properly to the canner/pressure cooker.

Be sure that the dishwasher is sitting on a surface that will not be affected by the weight of it, close to the sink with the drain hose properly connected and set to drain. The
power cord should be able to reach an outlet. Plug in the dishwasher and it will beep and come on in Standby mode with just the Power button lit.
Rinse the dishes to be washed to get rid of any leftover food still on them. Open the door and pull out the racks. Load dishes so the soiled side is angled towards the spray
arm at the bottom of the unit, and avoid having items touching each other to prevent noises and possible damage during the washing cycle. If necessary, the top rack can be
removed to accommodate larger items in the dishwasher by gently lifting the front while pulling it straight out.
Cutlery should be placed in the cutlery rack that slides out near the top of the cavity. Be sure that any sharp edges and points are facing down to prevent being injured.
NOTE: ALWAYS make sure items are dishwasher safe before putting in the unit. Items washed in it that are not dishwasher safe could become damaged, as well as the
dishwasher itself.
The official capacity certified by the regulatory body(DOE) is 2 full Place Settings and a full assortment of Serving Pieces with the sliding Top Rack removed and all cutlery
and utensils loaded in the Utensil Baskets in the Main Rack.
Alternatively, depending on the size of the dishes, 3 Place Settings without the full assortment of Serving Pieces can be loaded, also by removing the Top Rack and loading
all pieces into the Main Rack.

WASHING DISHES

Before shutting the door, add detergent to the Detergent Holder. You can use powder, liquid, gel or pods. Press the (Power) button and the unit will come on in
Operation Mode. Open the tank lid on the top of the dishwasher and pour in 5000 ml (5 liters) of water into the water tank. The included pitcher is 2000 ml, so it will take
2-1/2 pitchers to fill the reservoir. The refill light will shut off when full.
Select the desired function using the Wash Mode buttons, and then push the (Start/Pause) button. If the is not pressed, the unit will start the wash cycle
automatically after 10 seconds.
NOTE: If no buttons are pressed after the power is turned on, the unit will automatically go back to Standby mode after 2 minutes.
For faster and more efficient drying, open door slightly after washing dishes.

CAUTION: Be careful to avoid steam when door is opened.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

Regular inspection and maintenance will help to prevent malfunction. It is recommended to check and maintain the following items.
DOOR AND DOOR SEAL
Clean door gasket with a damp cloth regularly. Never use a steam cleaner to clean the dishwasher. We are not liable for any consequential damage if steam cleaner is used. Regularly wipe the
door and control panel with a damp cloth. Do not use sponges or materials with a rough surfaces or abrasive detergents, as these could scratch the surfaces.
FILTER ASSEMBLY
Remove any larger food particles trapped in the filters after each wash cycle by rinsing the filters under running water. Remove the coarse and fine filter from the flat filter by turning the
assembly counter-clockwise, and separate them by also turning counter-clockwise. Rinse under running water until any food particles are removed, then reassemble and let dry. There is also a
screen filter on the water fill hole under the tank lid that can be twisted counter-clockwise to remove for periodic cleaning under running water. NOTE: The entire filter assembly should be
cleaned at least once a week.
NOTE: The entire filter assembly should be cleaned at least once.
WARNING: Never run the dishwasher without the filters in place.
SPRAY ARM
Check if the spray arm has deposits of grease and lime scale. Lime scale, grease and dirt in the rinsing water can block the nozzles or prevent the bearing assemblies of the spray arm from
working properly. Check the outlet nozzles on the spray arm regularly. To clean, lift the spray arm upwards to detach from the dishwasher and clean it under running water. Replace in the
dishwasher after cleaning and lock the spray arm into position.
If needed, add dishwasher detergent and start the [Heavy wash] mode in an empty chamber.
WASTE WATER PUMP
Larger food remnants which are not filtered out by the filtration system may block the waste water pump. Rinsing water will not be pumped out and result in a blockage. If this happens, turn off the unit and disconnect the appliance from the power supply. Remove all the filters and remnants. Remove any water from inside the dishwasher and check and clean the filters.

CLEANING PRECAUTIONS

  1. NEVER use chlorinated household detergents. Doing so can pose a health hazard.
  2. ALWAYS unplug the appliance and let it cool down completely before cleaning.
  3. Keep the body and door window clean. Do not use harsh abrasive cleaners or sharp metal scrapers to clean the door window as they can scratch the surface, which may
result in shattering of the glass.
CAUTION: DO NOT allow water to penetrate any gaps in the body of the unit or the steam exhaust vent when cleaning the appliance.
  4. If the control panel gets wet, wipe it dry with a soft and dry cloth. DO NOT use coarse materials or abrasive cleaners to clean the control panel. When cleaning the
control panel, open the door to prevent the appliance from accidentally turning on.
  5. DO NOT use poisonous or corrosive detergents to clean the appliance.
  6. Dry all parts thoroughly before connecting the dishwasher to an electrical outlet.
  7. Allow the appliance to cool down completely and clean it before storing. Place the unit in a box and store in a cool, dry location.
  8. DO NOT wrap the power cord tightly around the appliance or put any pressure on the power cord when storage to avoid damaging the power cord.
