PART 2 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Removing the Filter If you are replacing the ﬁlter, ﬁrst press the push button to open the water ﬁlter cover, pull the old water ﬁlter downward and turn it counter-clockwise to pull it out. Make sure to rotate the ﬁlter down completely before pulling it out of the manifold hole. ATTENTION! Please remember to prepare a rag to absorb water leaks when removing the old ﬁlter. INSTALLING THE FILTER IN A BOTTOM FREEZER REFRIGERATOR Remove the top shelf. If the top shelf, which is located below the water ﬁlter, is in the highest position,it will need to be removed. This can be done in two simple steps: Press the PUSH button to open the water ﬁlter cover. NOTE: Please remember to prepare a rag to absorb water leaks when removing the old ﬁlter. Remove old water ﬁlter. Pull the old water ﬁlter downward and turn it counter-clockwise to pull it out. Make sure to rotate the ﬁlter down completely before pulling it out of the manifold hole. Install new water ﬁlter. Take a new water ﬁlter out of its packaging and remove the protective cover from the o-rings. Apply the month and year sticker to the new cartridge to remind you to replace the ﬁlter in 3-6 months. With the ﬁlter tats in the horizontal position, push the new ﬁlter into the manifold hole, rotate it up into place, and close the cover. Remove trapped air. Now that the ﬁlter is replaced, dispense 2.5 gallons of water to remove trapped air and contaminants from the system. Depress and release the dispenser pad for cycles of 30 seconds ON and 60 seconds OFF, rather than dispensing continuously. If your model is equipped with a water ﬁlter indicator on the display, press and hold the FILTER button or RESET button for approximately 5 seconds to reset the ﬁlter indicator. PART 3 WARNING! To reduce the risk associated with choking, do not allow children under 3 years of age to have access to small parts during the installation of this product. NOTICE To reduce the risk associated with property damage due to water leakage: Read and follow use instructions before installation and use of this system.  Installation and use must comply with all state and local plumbing codes. Do not install if water pressure exceeds 100 psi (6.8 bar). If your water pressure exceeds 60 psi (4.1 bar), you must install a pressure-limiting valve. Contact a plumbing professional if you are uncertain about how to check your water pressure. Water hammer conditions exist you must install a water hammer arrester. Contact a plumbing professional if you are uncertain how to check for this condition. Do not install on hot water supply lines. The maximum operating water temperature of this ﬁlter system is 100º F (38º C). Protect ﬁlter from freezing. Drain ﬁlter when temperatures drop below 33ºF (0.6ºC). The disposable ﬁlter cartridge should be replaced every 3-6 months at the rated capacity, or sooner if a noticeable reduction in ﬂow rate occurs.
