INSTALLATION

COLD AIR OUTLETS

  1.  Line up the dimple on the Elbow with the notch on the hose connector on the top of the air conditioner.
  2. Rotate anticlockwise until a click can be heard, indicating the elbow has locked into place.
  3.  Insert the Cold Air Hose into the Elbow, again lining up the dimple with the notch in the Elbow.
  4.  Rotate the pipe anticlockwise to fix it in place.
  5.  The pipe can then be extended and pointed in the desired direction.

HOT AIR OUTLET

  1. Push the Hot air pipe onto the Hot air outlet on the top of the appliance.
  2.  Extend the pipe and route it outside.

NOTES:

  • The best form of installation is through a wall duct. By properly venting you expel hot air from your room while efficiently cooling it.

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

If hoses are extended above the permitted length, the unit may malfunction which can invalidate the warranty. The outlet vent must be well ventilated and not obstructed as this will cause the unit to overheat. Keep all the hoses as straight and short as possible and avoid bending the air hose by more than 45 degrees in order to maintain the performance of the unit. Excessive bends in the hose may prevent the unit from expelling the hot air, which can lead to internal damage which would invalidate the warranty. Ensure that sufficient space is left in from the end of the vent pipes (30cm – Cold air, 90cm Hot air)
OPERATION

Turn the control switch to select your desired fan speed between Low and High.
When you have finished, turn the control switch back to the Off position.
The unit can also be used as a dehumidifier by not using the hot air hose. We advise setting the unit with continuous drainage when using it as a dehumidifier.

MULTI PROTECTIVE FUNCTIONS

FROST PROTECTION
If the temperature of the exhaust is too low, the machine will automatically stop operating until
AUTO-DEFROST
The machine has an automatic defrosting function. If during operation the temperature of the internal coils drops too low, the unit will enter auto defrost and the heating symbol will flash on the control panel.
AUTOMATIC THERMAL PROTECTION
To protect the service life of the machine, the machine has automatic thermal protection. If the temper within the unit is outside of the specified range, the compressor and the blower motor will stop operate temperature has risen.

EMPTYING THE INTERNAL WATER TANK

MANUAL DRAINAGE:
When the internal water tank is full the unit will stop working.
Shut off the unit and unplug. Try not to move the appliance as this may cause the water in the internal tank to spill out. Remove the water tank from the base of the unit and empty it into a sink or drain. Replace the water tank in the unit before plugging back in and restarting the operation.

CONTINUOUS DRAINAGE:
Remove the water tank from the unit, and remove the rubber cap from the end of the drainage spout. Connect the drainage pipe to the spout. Feed the drainage pipe through the hole in the side of the unit from the inside before sliding the water tank back into place. The drain is gravity fed, so can be routed downwards to a suitable drain. Alternatively, the pipe can be attached to an external uplift pump (not supplied) to pump the water uphill to a suitable drainage point.

NOTE: This model has a self-evaporative function, which reduces the need to empty the water tank. If the units are vented correctly most of the water is reused to cool the condenser coils and any excess is evaporated. Please do not use continuous drainage if you intend to use the self-evaporating facility.

INFORMATION ON INDOOR POLLUTANTS

VOC (VOLATILE ORGANIC COMPOUND):

VOCs come from motor vehicle exhausts, gasoline vapour, pollutants such as formaldehyde, ammonia and many other common and chemical solvents such as paints and glues, or can be a by-product of mould growth. VOCs cause irritation to the eyes and or nose as well as causing headaches, nausea and even potential damage to the central nervous system. Pressed wood furniture, newly decorated rooms, paint and cleaning solvents are common sources of VOCs.

MOULD / FUNGUS

These can affect our respiratory system and cause allergic reactions, like a runny nose, eye and throat irritation, headaches, fatigue and aggravation of asthma. Other indoor pollutants include bacteria, viruses, dust mites and pollen.

EMISSIONS FROM ELECTRONIC OFFICE EQUIPMENT

Many studies, including those from EPA and the University of California Berkley, have reported that emissions from office equipment such as computers and printers, include VOCs, ultra-fine particles and ozone. These emissions have been proven to have a negative effect on the health of many people which can be reduced by using an air purifier.

USING HEPA FILTERS , ACTIVATED CARBON FILTERS AND IONISERS

An effective HEPA filter is absolutely necessary to remove particles, even at a microscopic level; it ensures that the particles are not spread. The ioniser will automatically operate while the unit is running to sterilise the air and reduce bacterial growth.

The antibacterial activated carbon in the EAPDC150HCST is a natural material biosynthesized from walnut shell, the absorption area of activated carbon is very large at up to 300,000 square meters. The activated carbon filter will absorb unpleasant odours and reduce the VOC content in the air.

ENERGY SAVING AND UNIT SAFETY PROTECTION TIPS

  • Do not cover or restrict the airflow from the outlet or inlet grills.
  • For maximum performance and safety, the minimum distance from a wall or objects should be 20cm. Keep away from other electrical appliances.
  • Keep the filters clean. Under normal conditions, filters should only need cleaning once every two weeks (approximately). Since the filters remove airborne particles, more frequent cleaning maybe necessary, depending on the air quality.
  • Replace the filters regularly as instructed.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

Always turn off the unit and unplug from the mains before cleaning or performing any maintenance. If the unit is not to be used for a prolonged period it is advisable to unplug it from the mains. Do not use chemical solvents (such as benzene, alcohol or gasoline) as they may causeir reversible damage to the unit

CLEAN THE EXTERNAL CASE

Only use tepid water and a mild detergent on a soft cloth. Do not use bleach or abrasives. Do not splash water directly onto the appliance. Avoid wetting the DC power port. Doing so may cause an electrical shock and can lead to deterioration of the electrical insulation, or cause the unit to rust.

CLEAN THE FILTER AND THE FILTER HOLDING AREA

Vacuum the filter gently every 2-3 weeks or more often if used in a dustier environment. Please make sure the filter is not damaged during the process and replace if necessary. Wipe the filter holding area with a dry cloth.

Replacement filter cartridges can be purchased using the code: FIL EAPDC150HCST.

CLEAN THE FILTER COVER AND CLEAN AIR OUTLET

Use water and a mild detergent. Do not use bleach or abrasives. Do not spray water onto or inside the unit. If the clean air outlet grilles are dirty, use a vacuum attachment or soft brush to clean. Clean the filter cover with a vacuum cleaner, if it is heavily soiled remove it from the unit and wash with warm soapy water. It must be dried thoroughly before reinserting it in the unit.

NOTE: Do not assemble the unit before all the parts are completely dry. Any maintenance not described in this user manual must be performed by the service centre.

INFORMATION ON INDOOR POLLUTANTS

VOC (Volatile Organic Compound): VOCs come from motor vehicle exhausts, gasoline vapour, pollutants such as formaldehyde, ammonia and many other common and chemical solvents such as paints and glues, or can  be a by-product of mould growth. VOCs cause irritation to the eyes and or nose as well as causing headaches,  nausea and even potential damage to the central nervous system. Pressed wood furniture, newly decorated rooms,
paint and cleaning solvents are common sources of VOCs.
Mold / Fungus: These can affect our respiratory system and cause allergic reactions, like a runny nose, eye and  throat irritation, headaches, fatigue and aggravation of asthma. Other indoor pollutants include bacteria, viruses, dust mites and pollen.
Emissions from electronic office equipment: Many studies, including those from EPA and the University of  California Berkley, have reported that emissions from office equipment such as computers and printers, include  VOCs, ultra-fine particles and ozone. These emissions have been proven to have a negative effect on the health of  many people which can be reduced by using an air purifier.
Using HEPA filters and Activated Carbon filters An effective HEPA filter is absolutely necessary to remove particles, even at a microscopic level; it ensures that the particles are not spread. The antibacterial activated carbon on the IQ-PURE COOL is a natural material biosynthesized from walnut shell, the absorption area of activated carbon is very large at up to 300,000 square meters. The activated carbon filter will absorb unpleasant odours and reduce the VOC content in the air.

ENERGY-SAVING AND UNIT SAFETY PROTECTION TIPS

  • Do not cover or restrict the airflow from the outlet or inlet grills.
  •  For maximum performance and safety, the minimum distance from a wall or objects hould be 30cm. Keep  away from other electrical appliances.
  • Keep the filters clean. Under normal conditions, filters should only need cleaning once every two weeks  (approximately). Since the filters remove airborne particles, more frequent cleaning may be necessary,  depending on the air quality.

CHANGING THE FILTER

The life of the filters will vary depending both on the amount of use the appliance receives, and the air quality in the area the appliance is situated. We advise the filters to be replaced every six months based on a normal operating environment. During filter maintenance, it is advisable to swap the filters between the primary and secondary compartments to maintain performance and extend their life.

Open the filter covers by gently removing the 2 side panels. Remove the old filters by simply pulling on the tabs to release them. Replace the filters before refitting the filter covers, ensuring the covers click into place.

REPLACEMENT FILTERS

We offer both a replacement set of HEPA + Activated Carbon filter (FIL-IQ-PURECOOL)
and an enhanced HEPA filter (HPFILTER-IQ-PURECOOL) which are available from the same stockist as the appliance and are available under the references below.

FIL-IQ-PURECOOL
Replacement filter pack (1 x HEPA and 1 x ACTIVATED CARBON). Two packs should be ordered if replacing  the filters in both the Primary and Secondary compartments. This is great for typical use with similar sized HEPA  and Activated Carbon filters which offer a good balance of filtering dust, mould, pollen while also removing odours from the air, such as the smell of tobacco smoke or VOCs.

HPFILTER-IQ-PURECOOL
Enhanced filter pack containing a 2-in-1 filter. The dual filter contains an enhanced True HEPA filter with a  greater filtration surface while still incorporating a slimmer activated carbon layer. This will provide upgraded  performance when placed in the primary filter compartment and is ideal in smoke free environments. INSTALLATION

WARNING: Before using this unit, please keep it upright for at least 3-4 hours.

This unit can easily be moved from one room to another. While moving the unit please note that it must always be kept upright and then placed on an even surface.

  1. Attach the fishtail connector to the end of the hose, by extending the end and twisting until firmly attached (At least 3 full rotations).
  2. Attach the connector on the opposite end of the pipe to the exhaust outlet on the rear of the appliance by putting into position and twisting to lock in place.
  3. Make sure the unit is upright and there are no obstructions to the air inlets and outlet grills.

INSTALLATION OF WINDOW KIT

The window kit (slide bar and fishtail) can be used with sliding windows and doors. For other types of window, the fishtail should be used on its own.

  1. Partially open the window and place the extended slide bar in position before closing the window onto it.
  2. Fix the fishtail adaptor into the opening on the slide bar
  3. Fix the exhaust connector on the opposite end of the exhaust hose to the exhaust outlet on the rear of the air conditioner.

INSTALLING THE HEPA FILTER (OPTIONAL)

The air conditioner can accommodate a HEPA filter which will purify the air expelled back into the room in any operating mode. These can be purchased from the stockist using the code: FIL-ECOSILENTHEPA.

The HEPA filter should be unwrapped and installed in the upper air inlet. To install, remove the upper filter frame from the air conditioner by pressing the two clips on the top of the filter frame. Place the HEPA filter within the filter frame before refitting onto the unit.

In order to maintain performance, the filter should be regularly vacuumed. The filter should be replaced every six months, depending on usage and air quality.

NOTES:

  • The window kit is only designed to be installed with sliding or sash windows or doors. The window kit is not designed or to be used with any other style of windows.
  • The fish tail adaptor can be used without the slide bar with most windows / doors.
  • When using the air conditioner ensure that the opening left around the fishtail is as small as possible as the cooling will be less efficient.
  • The best form of installation is through a wall duct. By properly venting you expel hot air from your room while efficiently cooling it.
  • Your air conditioner should be used without the vent pipe in dry mode. When using dry mode ensure that an external water tank is used, monitored and regularly emptied before overflowing. Permanent plumbing can be also installed for dry mode or an external uplift water pump can be set up for unattended use.

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

The length of the soft hose extends from approximately 35 cm to 200 cm. If hose is extended above this length, the unit may malfunction which can invalidate the warranty. The outlet vent must be well ventilated and not obstructed as this will cause the unit to overheat. Keep the hose as straight and short as possible and avoid bending the air hose by more than 30 degrees in order not to reduce the performance of the unit.

OPERATION

REMOTE CONTROL

NOTE: The design of the remote may vary from the diagram, due to continuous product improvement.

SMART INDICATOR LED

The air conditioner contains a Smart Indicator which changes colour to show from a distance what mode the air conditioner is set to.

MULTI PROTECTIVE FUNCTIONS

FROST PROTECTION
In COOL, DRY or SMART COOL modes, if the temperature of the exhaust is too low, the machine will automatically stop operating until the temperature has risen.

OVERFLOW PROTECTION
When the water in the internal water tank exceeds the warning level, the machine will stop operating and sound an alarm with the LCD display showing “E7”. To resume operation empty the internal water tank. After the water is emptied, the machine will automatically return to the original state.

AUTO-DEFROST
The machine has automatic defrosting function. If during operation the temperature of the internal coils drops too low, the unit will enter auto defrost and the heating symbol will flash on the control panel.

AUTOMATIC THERMAL PROTECTION
To protect the service life of the machine, the machine has automatic thermal protection. If the temperature within the unit is outside of the specified range, the compressor and the lower motor will stop operation. The appliance will automatically return to normal operation after the temperature of the machine recovers.

COMPRESSOR PROTECTION
To prevent damage to the compressor there is a 3 minute delay start protection function.

EMPTYING THE INTERNAL WATER TANK

When the internal water tank is full the unit will stop working.
Shut off the unit and unplug. Try not to move the model abruptly as this may cause the water in the internal tank to spill out.

Place a tray under the lower water plug or place the unit in a drainage area.
Unscrew the drain plug cap and remove the rubber stopper – water will drain from the internal tank. Put the rubber stopper back and screw the drain plug cap back into place.

Unscrew the drain plug cap and remove the rubber stopper.
Connect a water pipe to the upper water outlet.
You can plumb this pipe into your current plumbing system, lead it outside and use gravity fall or use a water pump.

NOTE: This model has a self-evaporative function, which reduces the need to empty the water tank. If the unit is vented correctly most of the water is reused to cool the condenser coils and any excess is evaporated. Please do not use continuous drainage if you intend to use the self-evaporating facility.

MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING

PLEASE TURN OFF THE UNIT AND UNPLUG FROM THE MAINS BEFORE CLEANING OR PERFORMING ANY MAINTENANCE

CLEAN THE SURFACE
Clean the surface of the machine with a wet soft cloth. Do not use chemicals, such as benzene, alcohol, gasoline, etc; otherwise, as this may cause damage to the surface and or the internal workings of the machine

AIR FILTER CLEANING

  1. Attach the fishtail connector to the end of the hose, by extending the end of the hose and twisting the fishtail adaptor until it is firmly attached (At least 3 full rotations)
  2. Attach the connector on the opposite end of the pipe to the exhaust outlet on the rear of the appliance by putting it into position and twisting to lock in place.
  3. Make sure the unit is  upright and there are no obstructions to the air inlet and outlet grills.
INSTALLATION OF WINDOW KIT

The window kit (slide bar and fishtail) can be used with sliding windows and doors. For other types of window, the fishtail should be used on its own.

  1. Partially open the window and then fix the window kit to the window.
  2. Fix the fishtail on the hose into the opening in the slide bar.

NOTES:

  • The window kit is only designed to be installed with sliding or sash windows or doors. The window kit is not designed or to be used with any other style of  windows.
  • The fish tail adaptor can be used without the slide bar with most windows / doors.
  • When using the air conditioner ensure that the opening left around the fishtail is as small as possible to ensure efficient operation.
  • The best form of installation is through a wall duct. By properly venting you expel hot air from your room while efficiently cooling it.
  •  Your air conditioner should be used without the vent pipe in dehumidifier mode. When using dehumidifier mode ensure that an external water tank is  used, monitored and regularly emptied before overflowing. Permanent plumbing can be also installed for dehumidifier mode or an external uplift water pump can be set up for unattended use.

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
The length of the soft hose extends from 28 cm to 150 cm. If hose is extended above this length the unit may malfunction and this can invalidate the warranty. The outlet vent must be well ventilated and not obstructed as this will cause the unit to overheat. Avoid bending the air hose more than 30 degrees.

EMPTYING THE INTERNAL WATER TANK

MANUAL DRAINAGE:

When the internal water tank is full the unit will stop working. Shut off the unit and unplug. Try not to move the model abruptly as this may cause the water in the internal tank to spill out. Place a tray under the water plug or place the unit in a drainage area. Remove the rubber stopper – water will drain from the internal tank. Put the rubber stopper back into place.

CONTINUOUS DRAINAGE:

Unscrew the drain plug cap and remove the rubber stopper. Connect a water pipe to the water outlet. (Not Supplied) You can plumb this pipe into your current plumbing system, lead it outside and use gravity fall or use a water pump.

Note: This model has a self-evaporative function, which reduces the need to empty the water tank. If the unit is vented correctly most of the water is reused to cool the condenser coils and any excess is evaporated. Please do not use continuous drainage if you intend to use the self-evaporating facility.

MAINTENANCE

CLEANING

PLEASE TURN OFF THE UNIT AND UNPLUG FROM THE MAINS BEFORE CLEANING OR PERFORMING ANY MAINTENANCE

CLEAN THE SURFACE
Clean the surface of the machine with a wet soft cloth. Do not use chemicals, such as benzene, alcohol, gasoline, etc; otherwise, as this may cause damage to the surface and or the internal workings of the machine.

This unit features advanced all-in-one dual photocatalytic HEPA and an activated carbon filter for improved air filtration.

– Primary filters, made of non-woven materials, are used for removing large particles like hair and dust.
– Antibacterial HEPA filter to remove 99.9% of airborne particles of 0.25 micrometers or larger.
– Activated carbon filter removes unpleasant odors and absorbs harmful substances such as formaldehyde and benzenes.
– Photocatalytic filter with molecular sieve adsorption layer removes smaller particles and decompose further the pollutants.
– Plasma Ioniser sterilizes even further and removes mold spores and allergens from the air.
The EAP120HC also features an air quality LED indicator that will help in monitoring the quality of the air.

Applications:
– Personal use in domestic and office space to improve air quality

– Helps asthma and pollen sufferers
– Great for children’s rooms and small offices
NOTE: This air purifier is not a substitute for proper ventilation, regular vacuum cleaning or for the use of a cooker hood whilst cooking. If the humidity is over 60% Relative  Humidity we recommend using a dehumidifier to reduce the humidity.

Air Purifier Features and Indoor Pollutants

VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) – VOCs come from motor vehicle exhausts, gasoline vapor, pollutants such as formaldehyde, ammonia, and many other common and chemical solvents such as paints and glues, or can be a by-product of mold growth. VOCs cause irritation to the eyes and or nose as well as causing headaches, nausea, and even potential damage to the central nervous system. Pressed wood furniture, newly decorated rooms, paint, and cleaning solvents are common sources of VOCs.
Mold / Fungus – these can affect our respiratory system and cause allergic reactions, like a runny nose, eye and throat irritation, headaches, fatigue, and aggravation of asthma.
Other indoor pollutants include – bacteria, viruses, dust mites, and pollen, etc.
Emissions from electronic office equipment – Many studies, including those from EPA and the University of California Berkley, have reported that emissions from office equipment like computers and printers, including VOCs, ultra-fine particles, and ozone.
These emissions have been proven to have a negative effect on the health of many people which can be reduced by busing an air purifier.
Using HEPA filters, Activated Carbon filters, and Plasma Ionisation – An effective HEPA filter is absolutely necessary to remove particles, even at a microscopic level; it ensures that the particles are not spread. Plasma Ionisers will sterilize the air and reduce bacterial growth.
The antibacterial activated carbon on the EAP120HC is a natural material biosynthesized from the walnut shell, the adsorption area of activated carbon is very large up to 300,000
square meters. The activated carbon filter will absorb unpleasant odors and reduce the VOC content in the air.
The Plasma Ioniser will sterilize the air and reduce bacterial growth.
