Proper use

The angle grinder is designed for grinding metal and stone when using the appropriate grinding wheel and guard.
Warning! To cut metal and stone the grinder/sander may only be used when the guard (available as an accessory) is mounted.
The equipment is to be used only for its prescribed purpose. Any other use is deemed to be a  case of misuse. The user/operator and not the manufacturer will be liable for
any damage or injuries of any kind caused as a result of this.

Before starting the equipment

Warning!
Always remove the battery pack before making adjustments to the equipment.

Fitting the additional handle (Fig. 2)

• The angle grinder must not be used without the additional handle (3).
• The additional handle can be secured in any of two positions (A, B).

Replacing and adjusting the guard (Fig. 3)

Replacing:

• Remove the flange nut (b) and the clamping flange underneath.
• Open the clamp lever (a) on the guard (4).
• Turn the guard (4) through 180° in a clockwise direction so that the guard points upwards.
• Remove the guard (4).

To mount, proceed in the reverse order.
Adjusting:

• Adjust the guard (4) to protect your hands so that the material being ground is directed away from your body.
• The position of the guard (4) can be adjusted to any specific working conditions. Undo the clamp handle (a) and turn the cover (4) into the required position.
• Ensure that the guard (4) correctly covers the gear wheel casing.
• Secure the clamp handle (a) again.
• Ensure that the guard (4) is secure.

Warning!
Make sure that the guard is perfectly secure.
Warning!
Never use the angle grinder without the guard.

Test run for new grinding Wheels

Allow the right-angle grinder to run in idle for at least 1 minute with the grinding or cutting wheel fi tted in place. Vibrating wheels are to be replaced immediately.

Removing and cleaning the dust guard (Fig. 4-5)

The angle grinder is equipped with a removable dust guard (10). This protects the ventilation slots and keeps the inside of the motor free of dust and dirt. Ideally, the dust guard  (10) should be removed and cleaned each time after the grinder is used.
To be able to remove the dust guard (10), press it slightly away from the housing as shown in Fig. 5  to the point where the dust guard can be pressed downwards and removed  (see the direction of the arrow). The dust guard (10) can be cleaned from the inside out using low-pressure compressed air or running water. Before you fi t the dust guard, make sure that it is fully dry.

To fi t the removable dust guard (10), proceed in reverse order.

Operation

Charging the Li battery pack (Fig. 6-7)

1.  Remove the battery pack (6) from the handle, pressing the push-lock button (8) downwards to do so.
2. Check that your mains voltage is the same as that marked on the rating plate of the battery charger. Insert the power plug of the charger  (7) into the mains socket outlet. The green  LED will then begin to fl ash.
3.  Push the battery pack onto the battery charger.

In section 10 (Charger indicator) you will fi nd a table with an explanation of the LED indicator on the charger.
If the battery pack fails to charge, check for the  following:

• voltage at the power socket
•  whether there is good contact at the charging contacts of the charging unit If the battery pack still fails to charge, send
• the charger and charging adapter
• and the battery pack to our customer service center.

To ensure that items are properly packaged and delivered when you send them to us, please contact our customer service or the point of sale at which the equipment was purchased.
When shipping or disposing of batteries and cordless tools, always ensure that they are packed individually in plastic bags to prevent short circuits and fi res.
To ensure that the battery pack provides long service, you should take care to recharge it promptly. You must recharge the battery pack when you notice that the performance of the device drops. Never allow the battery pack to become fully discharged. This will cause it to develop a defect.

Battery capacity indicator (Fig. 8/Item 9)

Press the battery capacity indicator switch (a)  The battery capacity indicator (9) shows the charge status of the battery using 3 LEDs.

All 3 LEDs are lit:
The battery is fully charged.
2 or 1 LED(s) are lit:
The battery has an adequate remaining charge.
1 LED blinks:
The battery is empty, recharge the battery.
All LEDs blink:
The battery pack has undergone exhaustive discharge and is defective. Do not use or charge a defective battery pack.

Switching on (Fig. 9)

To start the equipment, push the On/Off switch (2) forwards and press it down. To switch off the angle grinder, depress the On/Off switch (2) at the back. The On/Off switch  (2) will jump back into its starting position.
Important! 
The equipment switches to “Standby Mode” after 10 minutes of non-use.
To reactivate: Switch on the equipment twice or press the battery capacity indicator. “Standby Mode” protects the battery.
Important! 
Following a stoppage (due to overloading), the cordless equipment starts up again automatically.  Important!
Wait until the machine has reached its top speed. You can then position the angle grinder on the workpiece and machine it.

Changing the grinding wheels (Fig. 10/11)

Use the face spanner (5) supplied to change the grinding wheels. The face spanner (5) is stored in the additional handle (3). Pull the face spanner (5) out of the additional handle  (3) when you need it.
Danger! For safety reasons, the angle grinder must not be operated with the face spanner (5) inserted in it.

• Simple wheel change by spindle lock:
•  Press the spindle lock and allow the grinding wheel to latch in place.
• Open the flange nut with the face spanner. (Fig. 11)
• Change the grinding or cutting wheel and tighten the flange nut with the face spanner.

Notice!
Only ever press the spindle lock when the motor and grinding spindle are at a standstill! You must keep the spindle lock pressed while you change the wheel!
For grinding or cutting wheels up to approx. 3 mm thick, screw on the fl ange nut with the flat the side facing the grinding or cutting wheel.

Motor

It is vital for the motor to be well ventilated during operation. Be sure, therefore, to keep the ventilation holes clean at all times.

Grinding Wheels

• Never use a grinding or cutting wheel bigger than the specified diameter.
• Before using grinding or cutting wheel, check its rated speed.
• The maximum speed of the grinding or cutting wheel used must be higher than the idle speed of the angle grinder.
• Use only grinding and cutting wheels that are approved for a minimum speed of 8,500 rpm and a peripheral speed of 56 m/sec.
• Check the direction of rotation when you use diamond cutting wheels. The directional arrow on the diamond cutting wheel must point in the direction in which the tool rotates.
Warning! 
Take special care that the grinding/sanding wheels are properly stored and transported.
Ensure that the grinding/sanding wheels are never exposed to shock, jolts or sharp edges (for example during transport or storage in a toolbox). This could cause damage (such as cracks) to the grinding/sanding wheels and place the user in serious danger.

Operating Mode

Rough grinding (Fig. 16)
Caution: Use the safety device for sanding/ grinding (included in items supplied).
For the best rough grinding results, hold the grinding wheel at an angle of between 30° and 40° to  the workpiece surface and guide back and forth over the workpiece in steady
movements.

Cutting (Fig. 17)

Caution: Use the safety device for abrasive cutting (available as an accessory, see 7.3)
When you use the right-angle grinder for cutting purposes, avoid tilting it in the cutting plane. The cutting wheel must have a clean cutting edge. A diamond cutting wheel is best used to cut hard stone.
Warning!
It is prohibited to use the machine on asbestos materials!
Warning!
Never use a cutting wheel for rough grinding.

Important!
To increase the cutting performance and running time of the cordless equipment, we recommend that you use a cutting wheel with a thickness of 1 mm.

Cleaning, maintenance and ordering of spare parts

Danger!
Always pull out the battery pack before starting any cleaning work.

Cleaning

• Keep all safety devices, air vents and the motor housing free of dirt and dust as far as possible. Wipe the equipment with a clean cloth or blow it with compressed air at low pressure.
• We recommend cleaning the equipment and the removable dust guard (10) immediately each time after use.
• Clean the equipment regularly with a moist cloth and some soft soap. Do not use cleaning agents or solvents; these could attack the plastic parts of the equipment. Ensure that no water can seep into the device. The ingress of water into an electric tool increases the risk of an electric shock.

Maintenance

There are no parts inside the equipment which require additional maintenance.

Disposal and recycling

The equipment is supplied in packaging to prevent it from being damaged in transit.
The raw materials in this packaging can be reused or recycled. The equipment and its accessories are made of various types of material, such as metal and plastic. Never place defective equipment in your household refuse. The equipment should be taken to a suitable collection center for proper disposal. If you do not know the whereabouts of such a collection point, you should ask in your local council offices.

Storage

Store the equipment and accessories in a dark and dry place at above freezing temperature. The ideal storage temperature is between 5 and 30 °C. Store the electric tool in its  original packaging.

Charger indicator

For EU countries only
Never place any electric power tools in your household refuse.
To comply with European Directive 2012/19/EC concerning old electric and electronic equipment and its implementation in national laws, old electric power tools have to be separated from other waste and disposed of in an environment-friendly fashion, e.g. by taking to a recycling depot.
Recycling alternative to the return request:
As an alternative to returning the equipment to the manufacturer, the owner of the electrical equipment must make sure that the equipment is properly disposed of if he no longer wants to keep the equipment. The old equipment can be returned to a suitable collection point that will dispose of the equipment in accordance with the national recycling and waste disposal regulations. 5. Before starting the equipment

Before you connect the equipment to the mains supply make sure that the data on the rating plate are identical to the mains data.

Warning!
Always pull the power plug before making adjustments to the equipment.

Check the drilling point for concealed electrical cables, gas and water pipes using a cable/pipe detector.

Additional handle (Fig. 2)
For safety reasons you must only use the demolition hammer with the additional handle.

The additional handle (4) enables you to achieve better stability whilst using the demolition
hammer. The additional handle (4) can be turned into any required position. Undo the screw (a) by turning it in the “+” direction. Now turn the additional handle (4) into the most comfortable working position for yourself and then tighten the screw (a) again by turning it in the “-” direction.

Tool insertion (Fig. 3)

• Clean the tool before insertion and apply a thin coating of drill bit grease to the shaft of
  the tool.
• Pull back and hold the locking sleeve (2).
• Insert the dust-free tool into the tool mounting as far as it will go whilst turning it. The tool will lock itself.
• Check that it is properly secure by pulling the tool.

Tool removal (Fig. 4)
Pull back and hold the locking sleeve (2) and remove the tool.

Chisel lock (Fig.5 Item 3)
When the chisel lock (3) is pressed, you can turn
the inserted chisel into the required position.

• Press the chisel lock (3) towards the inserted chisel.
• While holding the chisel lock (3), turn the chisel into the required position.
• Let go of the chisel lock again.

Note:
Turn the chisel to check whether it is securely seated.

6. Operation

Important.
To avoid danger, the machine must only be held using the two handles (1/3). Otherwise you may suffer an electric shock if you chisel into cables.

6.1 Switching On and Off (Fig. 6)
Switching on:
Press the On/Off switch (6)

Continuous operation:
Secure the On/Off switch (6) with the On/Off switch lock (5).

Switching off :
Press the On/Off switch (6) briefly or let go.

6.2 Practical tips
6.2.1 Sharpening chisel tools
You will only achieve good results if you use sharp chisels. You should therefore sharpen the chisels promptly to ensure that they produce good results and provide a long service life.

Notice!
You only require slight contact pressure for chiseling. Excessive contact pressure will place an unnecessary strain on the motor. Check the chisels at regular intervals. Sharpen or replace blunt chisels.

7. Replacing the power cable

Danger!
If the power cable for this equipment is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its after-sales service or similarly trained personnel to avoid danger.

8. Cleaning, maintenance and ordering of spare parts

• Clean the equipment regularly with a moist cloth and some soft soap. Do not use cleaning agents or solvents; these could attack the plastic parts of the equipment. Ensure that no water can seep into the device. The ingress of water into an electric tool increases the risk of an electric shock.

In case of excessive sparking, have the carbon brushes checked only by a qualified electrician.

10. Storage

Store the equipment and accessories in a dark and dry place at above freezing temperature. The ideal storage temperature is between 5 and 30 °C. Store the electric tool in its original packaging.

Before starting the equipment

Warning!
Before you connect the equipment to the mains supply make sure that the data on the rating plate are identical to the mains data. The equipment may be connected only to a shock-proof socket-outlet.
Assembling the equipment
Fitting the equipment head (Fig. 6) The equipment head (3) is fastened to the tank (8) by the locking hooks (7). To remove the equipment head (3), open both of the locking hooks (7) and take off the equipment head (3). When fitting the equipment head (3), make sure that both of the locking hooks (7) lock into place correctly.

Fitting the wheels (Fig. 5)
Fit the wheels in accordance with Fig. 5.
Fitting the handle (Fig. 4)
Use a screwdriver to fi t the handle (1) using both screws (21).
5.2 Fitting the filters
Notice!
Never use the wet and dry vacuum cleaner without a filter. Always ensure that the filters are securely seated.
Fitting the foam filter (Fig. 7)
For wet vacuuming, slip the supplied foam filter (16) over the filter basket (Fig. 2/4). The pleated filter (15) already fitted upon delivery is not suitable for wet vacuuming.
Fitting the pleated filter (Fig. 8)
For dry-vacuuming, slip the pleated filter (Fig. 15) over the filter basket (Fig. 2/4). The pleated filter (15) is suitable for dry-vacuuming only.
Fitting the dirt bag (not supplied)
For vacuuming fine, dry dirt it is recommended that you also fi t the dirt bag. This will ensure that the pleated filter (15) does not clog up so quickly and help maintain the vacuuming power. It also makes it easier to dispose of the dust. Slip the dirt bag over the vacuuming hole. The dirt bag is suitable for dry-vacuuming only.
5.3 Fitting the suction hose (Fig. 9-12)
Connect the suction hose (11) to the corresponding connector on the wet and dry vacuum cleaner, depending on the application required.
Vacuuming
Connect the suction hose (11) to the suction hose connector (9).
Blowing
Connect the suction hose (11) to the blow connector (10). To extend the suction hose (11) you can attach one or more of the elements which make up the 2-part suction tube (12) to the suction hose (11).

Operation

6.1 ON/OFF switch (Fig. 2/2)

6.2 Dry vacuuming
For dry-vacuuming, use the pleated filter (15). In
addition, you can also fi t the dirt bag. (See point 5.2)
Always ensure that the filters are securely seated.
6.3 Wet vacuuming
For wet-vacuuming, use the foam filter (16) (see point 5.2).
Check that the filter is securely seated at all times.
Water drain screw (Fig. 1)
To make the tank (8) easier to empty after wet vacuuming, it is fitted with a water drain screw (19). Open the water drain screw (19) by turning it anticlockwise and drain the liquid.
When wet vacuuming, the floating safety switch (5) closes when the maximum tank level is reached. At the same time, the suction noise of the equipment will change and become louder. You must then switch off the equipment and empty the tank.
Danger!
The wet and dry vacuum cleaner is not suitable for the vacuuming of combustible liquids. For wet vacuuming, use only the supplied foam filter.

Automatic mode

Connect the power cable of your electric tool to the automatic socket-outlet (6) and connect the suction hose (11) to the vacuuming connector of your electric tool. Check that the connections are secure and air-tight. Set the switch (2) on the wet and dry vacuum cleaner to position „AUTO“ (automatic mode). The moment you switch on the electric tool, the wet and dry vacuum cleaner switches on as well. When you switch off the electric tool, the wet and dry vacuum cleaner switches off as well after a pre-set delay.

Blowing
Connect the suction hose (11) to the blow connector (10) on the wet and dry vacuum cleaner.

Replacing the power cable

Danger!
If the power cable for this equipment is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its after-sales service or similarly trained personnel to avoid danger.

Cleaning, maintenance and ordering of spare parts

Always pull out the mains power plug before starting any cleaning work.

Cleaning

• Keep all safety devices, air vents and the motor housing free of dirt and dust as far as possible.
• We recommend that you clean the equipment immediately after you use it.

Cleaning the equipment head (3)
Clean the equipment regularly with a damp cloth and some soft soap. Do not use cleaning agents or solvents; these may be aggressive to the plastic parts in the equipment.
8.3 Cleaning the tank (8)
The tank can be cleaned with a damp cloth and some soft soap or under running water, depending on the amount of dirt.
8.4 Cleaning the filters
Cleaning the pleated filter (15) Clean the pleated filter (15) regularly by carefully patting it and cleaning it with a fi ne brush or hand brush. Cleaning the foam filter (16) Clean the foam filter (16) with a little soft soap under running water and allow it to air-dry.
8.5 Maintenance
At regular intervals and before each use, check that the filters in the wet and dry vacuum cleaner are securely fitted.
